Elim Community Church Invercargill We exist to raise up burning ones-men and women fully alive in Christ, fearless in love, and fierce in purpose.

The oasis in the desert

It was the name of an oasis mentioned in the Bible. You can imagine what this oasis meant to weary people after days of slogging through the desert with the sun beating down relentlessly on their backs. Exodus 15:27 says that at Elim there were 70 palm trees clustered round twelve wells, and, after the dust and heat and thirst of the desert, the shade of the stately palms and the cool sparkle of those refreshing springs must have seemed like heaven on earth. It was this idea of finding shelter and refreshment that inspired the name ‘Elim’. Part of the Elim NZ movement, we are a Pentecostal, Bible preaching, Jesus centered Church, Our Vision is Equipping and Empowering each generation to reach the next.

The Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
[Acts 2:47]

The proclamation of the gospel was to be world-wide in its extent, and the messengers of the cross could not hope to fulfill their important mission unless they should remain united in the bonds of Christian unity, Their spiritual life and power was dependent on a close connection with the One by whom they had been commissioned to preach the gospel.

Only as they were united with Christ could the disciples hope to have the accompanying power of the Holy Spirit and the cooperation of angels of heaven. With the help of these divine agencies they would present before the world a united front and would be victorious

Jesus is over everything!
When we worship and magnify the name of Jesus, we are reminded that He is good and that He sits on the throne of our lives.

Jesus has overcome death, hell, and the grave, and He has the final say! There is no higher name than the name of Jesus.

There are seasons where what worked before simply won’t be enough for where God is taking you next.

A new season requires new levels of faith, new obedience, new rhythms, and sometimes a new position.

God doesn’t reveal the new to leave us confused He reveals it so we can move with clarity, wisdom and obedience.

This Sunday, we’re leaning into the presence of God and asking Him to recalibrate our hearts, renew our minds, and reposition our lives for the season ahead.
