JANE MANSON – KINGS SERVICE MEDAL in today’s Honours List: “This was totally unexpected and very humbling.”
Jane is pictured here at the blessing of the Tamahere Country Market with Archbishop Emeritus Sir David Moxon on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the market, October 2024.
We are delighted that Jane’s huge heart, tireless voluntary work and collaborative leadership ability, all underpinned by her strong faith and achieved while raising four children and a sterling career as a nurse has been recognised.
Typically, Jane deferred any focus on herself and spread the love: “You know I couldn’t do anything without the love, support and friendship of the community and family around me,” she said this morning.

Our church hall renovations are continuing. A beautiful new cross has just been installed to replace the precariously hanging-on old one. The new cross was crafted with love from specially chosen redwood by Dave Packer. Dave is a parishioner who has been project managing the most recent west hall section renovations. Thank you Dave for all you are doing and thank you Cam and Mitch from MV Build for going above and beyond (as the photo shows, Cam, literally doing so) your building brief. You are all very appreciated.

Happy Easter.
The resurrection gardens the children made at the beginning of Lent were richly decorated with flowers today to symbolise and spread the joy of the resurrection.

We are looking forward to our Christingle service, tomorrow, Christmas Eve at 4 pm.
We sing carols, listen to the Christmas story and make christingles. Sticky fingers guaranteed.
Please bring an orange, we provide the rest.

We had a joyful Sunday service to celebrate the third Sunday of Advent.
There were quarreling shepherds, a wolf stealing the sheep and Mary and Joseph to arrive on a pony/donkey to bring peace on Earth.
A big thank you to our vicar Sue who directed our Christmas play and to all participating adults, children and animals.
