CHURCH WARNED AGAINST LOVE OF EARTHLY TREASURES AT ZOMBA 1 DISTRICT CAMP MEETING

“I Will Go to Preach” was the theme of the Zomba 1 District Seventh-Day Adventist Church camp meeting, which began on 23rd August and ended on 29th August, 2026.

On the Sabbath morning, the sermon was delivered by Pastor G. Bowa on the theme, “Treasures That Lead to Destruction.” He started reading from Matthew 27:1-8, the passage that dwells on the story of Judas' betrayal. He explained how Judas, although he was in Jesus' inner circle, let his love for money pave the way to his death. The pastor also stressed how the Sanhedrin seemed unconcerned with Judas when he came to return the money, despite initially being together in plotting Jesus' capture. He warned the church that the people with whom we sin might end up abandoning us when we get into trouble.

Pastor Bowa then turned to Matthew 27:11-26. He urged the church not to be like Pilate, who didn't listen to his wife's concerns about Jesus and went on to hand Jesus over to be crucified.

The camp meeting took place at Zomba Central SDA Church. Other pastors and evangelists who ministered during this gathering were Pastor Andrew Mandala, Pastor Gift Zunde, Evangelist P. Msosa, Evangelist Lewis Maulana, Evangelist Mrs C. Mulinga and Pastor W. Mbalame, who also served as the host.
