OVERCOME FEAR AND SHAME

Pr Dan Walusa(Greater Life Devotional)

Heb 12:2 KJV* “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Overcome shame, disappointments, persecutions, low self image and any other negatives when you want to achieve something. Focus much on the vision and the crown. Dont focus on the hinderances. YOUR DESIRE FOR SUCCESS SHOULD OUTWEIGH YOUR FEAR OF FAILURE. Take what Jesus did in the opening verse. His desire for saving mankind was greater than fear of shame and the cross.

Joshua 1:6 “Be strong and courageous; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them...."

God told Joshua to be strong and courageous. The Desire to lead people to inherit the land was to be greater than fear. That is why you be strong and be courageous till the end. Only overcomers receive the rewards. Revelation 21:7 “He that overcomes shall inherit all things...”

1 Sam 17 tells us that when all men of Israel including King Saul were hiding from Goliath, a teenager David without much war experience volunteered to fight the Giant. He was strong and courageous and his desire for liberating Israel was greater his fear of Goliath.

When your desire for GODLY SUCCESS is greater than your fears and shame, you have positioned yourself for success and victory.

Do everything with confidence. You will have great rewards. Hebrews 10:35. “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.”

CONFESSION
I will never give up, I will never quit. Victory is my name. Greater is He who is in me than the one who is in the world. I am a righteous and I dont fear. I know who I am. I am strong and courageous in Jesus Name. Amen.

Move on dont be discouraged

Deuteronomy 31:8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Dont be afraid. Dont be discouraged. Even in the midst of dangerous and life threatening situations, the Lord is with you. So there is no need to be afraid.

Psalm 23:4 "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

You may be passing through unpleasant situations but you are not meant to settle there. They are temporary moments as you move towards the goal. They are moments that arent permanent and hence should not deter you from matching on. The Lord is right with you as you pass through them.

Isaiah 43:2-3 "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and the flame will not scorch you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior..."

Challenges are temporary and therefore dont make permanent decisions based on these temporary situations. They may be here today but wont be there tomorrow.

2Corinthians 4:17-18 "This light, temporary nature of our suffering is producing for us an everlasting weight of glory, far beyond any comparison, because we do not look for things that can be seen but for things that cannot be seen. For things that can be seen are temporary, but things that cannot be seen are eternal."

Maintain Your confidence

Hebrew 10:35 (NET) So do not throw away your confidence, because it has great reward.

Faith entails confidence. You cant act out of faith and not have confidence. Hebrews 11:1-3 (NIV) "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."

Your confidence has great reward. Confidence comes in by acting with assurance. Confidence is not based on our abilities but in Christ. Jeremiah 17:7 (NHEB) Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose confidence is in the LORD.

Confidence is not in the heart only. It should be shown in action and words. Show confidence in your Words. Speak with confidence. Hebrew 13:6 (NET) So we can say with confidence, “ The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? ”

Show confidence in your actions of Faith. Hebrews 11:27 "By faith Moses left Egypt, not fearing the anger of the king; for he endured as seeing him who is invisible.

Heb 11:8 "By faith, Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he was going."

Show confidence as you pray. Hebrew 4:16 "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

Go, do it in confidence. Win and Get the rewards. Those that dont have confidence refuse to act.

WE ARE WINNING

Proverbs 24: 16. “For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.”

Did you fall yesterday in your Christian walk, in your studies, business, at work or in your career; you must rise again because you havent yet failed. You only fail when you refuse to rise up from falling.

Those who rise again have chances to win again. Those who refuse to quit are winning. So long as you rise you are winning.

Failures remain falling, winners rise up after a fall. Dont dwell in the past, focus ahead.

Philippians 3: 13-15 “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.

Those who finish are those who rise up and start advancing. Those who dwell on their past mistakes lose out in life. Therefore forget your past fallings and focus on winning. Your desire to win should surpass the fear of being laughed at for past mistakes. We are focusing on what is ahead and not what is behind us. We are winning and will keep on winning. We are advancing and will keep on advancing. Not that we dont have disappointments; but we refuse to be disappointed by them. Our prize is bigger than disappointments.

CONFESSION
I am winning, am advancing, am making progress. I refuse past fallings to dictate my future. I rise up and keep on moving forward, In Jesus Name. Amen

Keep on Getting Better

Mark 4:30-32 He said, “How will we liken God’s Kingdom? Or with what parable will we illustrate it? It’s like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, though it is less than all the seeds that are on the earth, yet when it is sown, grows up, and becomes greater than all the herbs, and puts out great branches, so that the birds of the sky can lodge under its shadow.”

Where you start is not an issue. You may not start big but you need to grow big. You need to keep on getting better to be a success in life. If you are not growing be assured that others are growing and therefore soon you will become the smallest of them all and hence become irrelevant. If you become irrelevant you will soon go out of that you are doing. That is why you have to keep on advancing in all areas of life. You need to progress. Live a better life today than yesterday.

Get new knowledge everyday. Add knowledge(2 Peter 1:5). If you don't get new knowledge you will live same life for years. You will be at same level or even lower. If you dont get new knowledge then only your age will go higher. Your general quality of life diminishes if you dont get new relevant knowledge. Your knowledge is your relevance. You can get same results for years if you dont upgrade in knowledge and you will soon become irrelevant.

The people who arent progressing become stationary. There is no movement in their life. Where there is no movement, you become a monument. Avoid being a monument. Monuments are static features.

Let your ending be better that your beginning. This is the reason you need to keep on learning principles for success. Be a success for a better ending. Ecclesiastics 7:8 “Better is the end of a thing than its beginning.”

Acknowledge the Lord

Proverbs 3 : 5-6 (Amplified) "Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths."

Anyone who does the Word of God and follow the Biblical principles is destined for good success(Joshua 1:8). However when you are a good success you should not forget the Lord. Do not reach the level where you trust on your ways and you think you have made it because of your smartness. Always learn to acknowledge Him and thank Him for any achievement (1 Thes 5:18). As you do that you shine more and more. You heap success upon success.Deuteronomy 8 : 17-18 " You may say to yourself, "My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me." BUT REMEMBER THE LORD YOUR GOD, FOR IT IS HE WHO GIVES YOU THE ABILITY TO PRODUCE WEALTH, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today."

Ten lepers were healed by Jesus. Nine of them were Jews and thought they belonged to the same tribe with Jesus hence no need to acknowledge God. Only one stranger came back to thank God because he knew it wasn't his own effort or smartness. When He did that he was not only healed but made whole. To be made whole means to be restored in all areas. Even His money was restored. If his wife had abandoned him, he got her back.As you acknowledge the Lord, you get more than enough.Luke 17 : 17-19 " And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith has made thee whole."

Additional scripture: 2 Corinthians 3 : 5 (Amp) " Not that we are fit (qualified and sufficient in ability) of ourselves to form personal judgments or to claim or count anything as coming from us, but our power and ability and sufficiency are from God."

Prayer: Thank you Father for everything that you do in my life. I Acknowledge and Give you thank for whatever he has done to your life(Mention some of them). In Jesus Name. Amen

The Word is Living and Active

Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

The Word of God is living and powerful. The Word translated Powerful is Greek Word Energes and it also means productive, energetic, operative and effective.

That means you can make the Word be productive in your life. You can choose to make the Word energetic, operative and effective. Don't allow your life to be dull. Your life shouldn't be ineffective. Don't allow your life to lack energy. Energise your life by meditating and speaking the Word continually.

Psalm 8:2 "Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength.."

Even if it is babies that are speaking the Word of God, its still strength to them. So if the Word is strength to babies, what about adults? Therefore you can not ignore the power of Word in your mouth.

Acts 19:20 "So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed."

The Word can be grown and as the Word grows, it dominates and prevails over all circumstances in life. The power in the Word prevails always. Continued Study and meditation of the Word grows that Word in you.

Colossians 3:16 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."

Psalm 1:2-3 "But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper."

Confession
The Word is working and prevailing in my life and circumstances. The Word of God in my mouth is my strength. That Word makes me a success. In Jesus name. Amen

Be a servant

2Peter 3:15 Regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; even as our beloved BROTHER PAUL also, according to the wisdom given to him, wrote to you..

In the opening scripture, Paul the Apostle who was one of the greatest APOSTLES was referred to as BROTHER PAUL. He was in no way offended because Paul wasn't obsessed by titles but by the work of God.

Paul himself said 1Corinthian 15:10 "But by the grace of God I am what I am. His grace which was bestowed on me was not futile, but I worked more than all of them; yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me."

So whether you are called brother, sister, deacon, pastor, evangelist, prophet, apostle, bishop, elder, church clerk, father or any other name; you shouldn't be obsessed by the title but rather be mindful of your work which God has given you and work with diligence.

What will matter is the service you render as the Lord's servant. You will be rewarded based on the service as a faithful servant not because of your title.

Matthew 25:21 “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord."

Whatever people call you, has nothing to do with your relationship with God and your service to Him. You are not Great because of the Title but because of what you do. Therefore work in the kingdom and produce results. Be a good servant by offering the best services in the Kingdom.

Mark 10:42-43 "Jesus summoned them, and said to them, “You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. But it will not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant."

CONFESSION
I am a faithful servant servant of God. I will do the service and complete it with excellence. I refuse to be obsessed by earthly titles. In Jesus Name. Amen

CREATE AND FORM

Genesis 2:19 “And from the earth the Lord God made every beast of the field and every bird of the air..”

In Genesis 1 shows us the spiritual aspect of creation of things. God used the Word and things were created. Then Chapter 2 shows us the formation of those things that were created. How they were made and came into being in the physical. For example in the scripture above, animals were made from earth in Genesis 2 whereas in Genesis1, God just spoke the Word and they were created(Genesis 1:17). In Genesis 1:26-27 both man and woman were created same day in the spirit, but Genesis 2 shows us that they came on scene differently. Man was physically formed from dust and then animals . A woman, a helper was formed from Man’s ribs after some time.

Which means you can create same day in the spirit through Words but may be manifested different days.

God gave us His children His nature.This shows us that before you can make anything in the physical, you need to create it first in the Spirit through the Words and imagination. The spiritual controls the physical. Creation is done by the imagination and Words we speak whereas formation can be done by using physical substances. Before you work on a project, create it first by imagining and speaking the Words then you can start allocating resources.

Before you apply for a job, create it first by the imagination and Word of God. Before you go to your office to work or to your business, speak the Word that will create what you are going to do physically at your Work station. Before you do anything for the day, create it first with your imagination and Word. Dont make anything in physical before you have created it in the spirit.

If you are a student create your grades before you sit for exams.Then you can study according to the grades which has been created in your imagination and words. Your creative Words in your mouth will make you design whatever you want to see physically. Psalm 45:1 "My heart overflows with a noble theme. I recite my verses for the king. My tongue is like the pen of a skillful writer."

Hebrew 11:3 "By faith, we understand that the universe has been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen has not been made out of things which are visible."

Prayer:
Thank you father for giving me the power and ability to both create and form things in my life. With my mouth I create abundance, upliftment,success, victory, and all the good things in all areas. In Jesus name. Amen.

BREAKTHROUGH IS FAITH IN ACTION

Genesis 38:28-29 "And so it was, when she was giving birth, that the one put out his hand; and the midwife took a scarlet thread and bound it on his hand, saying, “This one came out first.” Then it happened, as he drew back his hand, that his brother came out UNEXPECTEDLY; and she said, “How did you BREAK THROUGH? This breach be upon you!” Therefore his name was called Perez."

Many people pray for breakthrough without actually knowing what it is all about.

Breakthrough is doing the unexpected. As we read in the opening scripture that Perez was not expected to be the first born. People had already ,marked his brother as first born but unexpectedly, Perez came out first.

Breakthrough is going beyond the marked boundaries. It may be positive or negative 1 Chronicles 14:11 "So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. Then David said, “God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a BREAKTHROUGH of water.” Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.

Exodus 19:21 "And the Lord said to Moses, “Go down and warn the people, lest they BREAK THROUGH to gaze at the Lord, and many of them perish."

Breakthrough means taking bold steps and risking it all in order to obtain the desired results. 2 Samuel 23:16-17 "So the three mighty men BROKE THROUGH the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David. Nevertheless he would not drink it, but poured it out to the Lord. And he said, “Far be it from me, O Lord, that I should do this! Is this not the blood of the men who went in jeopardy of their lives?”

If you check in all these, one thing coming out clear is that the people took an action and they broke through. Breakthrough is not what happened to them but what they did. So its the faith filled action that a Christian does that makes them to breakthrough. You go beyond the limits.

Breakthrough is an action to take that makes you come out first. Its about taking bold steps which many people are failing to take. Breakthrough is faith in action. Its high time to exercise your faith rather than simply praying for breakthrough to happen to you without any action. We breakthrough...not that breakthrough happens to us. We take action in our faith because faith without action is dead.

My faith is working, I am going beyond the ordinary. I am taking faith filled actions and am breaking through. In Jesus name. Amen
