IT'S POSSIBLE TO COME FROM BEHIND AND WIN THE GAME

GETTING DOWN in life is not an issue,but the problem is rather failure to bounce back into the game.

I may not be a good lover of football,but I slightly follow because of my son, Trust who supports Liverpool F.C of England.

I have watched several games and I recall one moment when My son's team was behind in the game by good two goals to nil.It was worrisome.I worried for my handsome son.However , something happened.The losing team made few changes and scored one goal , then another and lastly the third one.The referee blew the whistle marking end of game.Was my son happy? Yes.Very happy.His team came from behind and won the game.

I had a recall of this scenario but in a vision.God reminded me about Proverbs 24:16.He told me that it's possible to come from behind in any area be it marriage,career , business etc and become so prosperous.The first can be the last.There is no limit to that.

Child of God,do not write off your future. It still counts before God.It is relevant. Just regroup yourself and make few changes. You can make good progress and turn tables.

You may have suffered before.You may not want it to happen again.Yes ,it will not.As long as you believe in God,you are bouncing back with VICTORY in the name of Jesus Christ.

ROPES AND NAILS

Jesus stayed on the cross for you.

Why is it that movies about the crucifixion of Jesus usually show his hands being tied to the cross?

There’s no historical evidence for that at all, so I assume it’s to protect the actor playing the role of Jesus. It’s an occupational health and safety issue!

The evidence we have from history tells us that Jesus was brutally nailed to the cross through his hands. But you know what, it wasn’t the nails that kept him there.

Jesus could have come down off that cross whenever he wanted! But he didn’t – and even when the crowd laughed at him and mockingly asked him to come down from the cross, he remained.

Why?

Jesus stayed on the cross for you. It’s not that he couldn’t come down, but for your sake and mine, he wouldn’t. Ultimately, It was his love for you and me – ­not the Roman nails – that kept him on that cross.

JESUS CHRIST HAS THE ANSWER FOR THE SADNESS OF LIFE

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever (Isaiah 40:8).

In 2020, just before giving one of my last sermons for that year, everyone ran away, only few had remained.Life was hard for ministry, myself and family I spoke to myself, “My employment before has gone,my church has gone down, finances are lost,all friends are laughing at me,they are saying I am not called into Ministry and I am left alone.” As I thought of the loss of all this loss and my companions in the ministry, I was overwhelmed with emotion. I suddenly sat down and covered my face with my hands.I cried bitterly ,I lost control of self.I got depressed, but only for a moment. Then I stood up and encouraged myself to go on serving the Lord.

The ultimate sadness of life is that nothing lasts. The beauty, the strength, the youth doesn’t last, and the vigour of mid-life is temporary. So people search madly for possessions, for pleasure, and for power.

Subconsciously, we try one thing after another in our efforts to buy immortality.

Jesus has the answer! Hallelujah.I found joy in the Word of God- Jesus Christ.

Jesus gave us the remedy on his last earthly night with his disciples. He said, “Because I live, you shall live also. For if a man love me, he’ll keep my words. And I’ll abide with him, and my Father will abide with him.” (See John 15).

We were never meant to live alone.

Reflection: Have you realised the truth of what I believe, that “The ultimate sadness of life is that nothing lasts”? But everything God offers you lasts forever! How does that change the way you see your life? Spend some time praising the Lord!

THE GOSPEL WITH ADDITIVES

At its core, the Gospel is simple.

I usually try to buy food without additives. The more strange numbers and ingredients I see on the list, the more I wonder if there’s something wrong with the product.

It’s the same with the Gospel.

At its core, it’s actually very simple. Jesus came to earth, died on the cross and rose to life from the grave proving he was God’s son and chosen king. By following Him, you and I can have forgiveness of sins and life eternal.

The problem comes when people start adding to that basic truth – a social agenda, religious expectations, or even good–intentioned advice for living.

Don’t get distracted from the plain and simple Gospel…

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life – John 3:16.

You don’t need to add any other ingredients to find forgiveness and eternal life!

YOU BELONG TO GOD,HIS PROPERTY.

You are not your own; you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, RSV).

The answer from Scripture to man’s claim of self-ownership is clear, unequivocal and final. We are not our own, because we were bought. We were delivered, if we will accept it. God’s own Son valued us so highly that he would not leave us in the darkness of the shadow of condemnation and death. By his own agonies he saves us from our agonies, if we will let him.

My life is not my own, nor are my moments, talents, opportunities or health. They are all held in trust. To rightly use them is the rent for the space I occupy down here.

*We belong to God.*

Why was Christ forsaken at the ancient cross? He was forsaken that we might forsake our habit of fleeing from the cross of life and the cross of the Gospel, which, if lifted, ultimately will lift us. For the cross of service, when embraced, becomes as wings to a bird and as sails to a ship. The sighs of Calvary, through the magic alchemy of our loving, Heavenly Father, ultimately become transfigured into the songs of Paradise.

*Reflection* :
Is there something in your life that you especially think is yours, and that is difficult for you to share? Consider carefully the thoughts in this devotion. Prayerfully think about how you can take that thing that you hold so close to you, and use it for God’s service, sharing it with others.

FILL YOUR THOUGHTS WILL THE HEAVENLY REALITIES

Colossians 3:2

“Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm.”

The Father has so fashioned and empowered our minds in such a way that we have
the power to create just from our thoughts. We either think ourselves into blessings as
we feast on all the treasures of God that are in the heavenly realm by fillings our
thoughts with the realities of heaven that brings us much success in the spirit
manifested in the natural.

But the alternative is to be so distracted in by our natural
realm that we forget that our minds have been renewed/ to operate despite
the distractions, detours, or disappointments.

The reason we have to intentionally and
consistently feast on the treasures of heaven, and have our thoughts fixed on the truth
of God’s word is because there are so many competing interest and distractions in our
natural realm. But when we make the shift a whole new world of possibilities opens up
to us in the Spirit that changes the very nature of our natural state. That’s why Paul
instructs us in Philippians 4:8:

Philippians 4:8
“To keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable
and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And
fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.”

Let’s find today to fight for the kind of reality in our minds that doesn’t leave us lacking and wanting because we were so distracted that we couldn’t keep our minds filled and fixed on treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly
