What a service to welcome Rev Clare Anderson (& her husband, Marius), to our circuit this morning, where over 150 people crammed into our Circuit Service at Essington Wood.
We thanked Anne & Margaret for their many years of faithful service, were led by our District Chair, Rachel Deigh (Busy weekend for her), and regaled by our Circuit Praise band, Our Soloist, Miracle (supported by Jackie), and our Superintendent Rock Guitar legend, Gary. Some of the hymns/ songs were:
The Splendour of the King/Jesus is the name we honour/ What a friend we have in Jesus/10,000 Reasons/Praise is rising/ One human family God has made/ Amazing Grace/ Let us build a house/ Come all ye vagabonds, Methodism is truly born in song! We were joined by Walsall Council Leader, Elaine Williams & Essington Parish Councillor, Mrs Hilary Southern-Dibble.
Refreshments afterwards, as you may guess Methodism is also born in cake, was supplied by Essington Methodist Church, who did a magnificent job in hosting us.
One further thing, there was a collection taken to support those caught up in the Nepal Floods which raised over £450.00.
Our love, blessings & support go out to Clare & Marius as they join our 'Hidden River' Family.

After almost eight years serving Newquay, Reverend Clare Anderson is preparing to leave the town for a new Methodist ministry in the West Midlands.

During her time here she helped oversee the creation of The Oasis on Pargolla Road, the purpose-built worship and community space which opened in 2025.

Speaking to Radio Newquay, Clare reflects on the people she'll miss, why Newquay is "really quite special", and shares a final message encouraging anyone curious about faith to have a conversation with their local church.
