St Leonard's Church in Padiham are holding their annual Christmas 🎄fair on Saturday 22nd November from 10am till 1pm.

If you are a local business or person who would be interested in having a stall at this event the cost would be only £20 per stall and all profits would be your own!

Tomorrow (Saturday 13th Sept) the Padiham Parish Foodbank have organised a get together with coffee and cake for those who come to the Foodbank and the local community.

This will take place at St Leonard's Church from 9am till 11am.

Following the outbreak of Dry Rot in our roof timbers late in 2024, we have been urgently raising funds to pay for repairs which are expected to reach somewhere in the region of £70,000.

The National Churches Trust was approached and we are happy to record that they have offered us a grant of £10,000. This is a substantial grant and we are very grateful for their generous offer. The work is now well under way and we anticipate completion by the end of July.

Friends of St Leonard’s and St Margaret’s, this email always brings a warm invitation to church on Sunday. This week we welcome Mark Heaton at St Leonards 9:30, and Alan Roadley at St Margarets 11am, wwho will both lead us in our family services.

The reading for this Sunday’s service will be Matthew 28 v 16-20 (St L) and John 10 v 22-30 (St M)

Friends, as always this brings a warm invitation to church on Sunday but especially this week as we celebrate Mothering Sunday in our churches. I am sending this email out today so that Men and Children of St Leonard’s don’t forget about our work party tomorrow, Saturday 29th March at 10am in the Green Room to prepare the flower posies for Sunday. Please come along and help if you can.

Just a reminder the Clocks also SPRING FORWARD one hour on Saturday night so watch your timings for our Sundays services.

Friends, our verse for 2025 says, “whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.” (Philippians 4:8)

There’s nothing more lovely and admirable and excellent
and praiseworthy than God’s gift of life through Jesus but you’ll notice that the verse tells us that we need to make a conscious effort to think about things that are good. (At the same time you’ll notice that thoughts of unpraiseworthy things have no problem filling our minds.)

So do come to church this Sunday and fill your mind with good things.
Our services are at the usual times with children’s groups running at both churches in the morning.

At St Margaret’s breakfast will be served from 10.15am so come early for that. Then our service at 11am begins with the baptism of Parker Richards; we warmly welcome those specially joining us for the service. Ice Cream will follow for the children.
