For those who knew Tim Langdon (team member in the 1980s), I have some sad news - this is what his wife Karen posted on Facebook.

Tim passed away at home this morning. Although he will be missed more than I can say it is a relief that his suffering and frail body are now at peace.

The funeral will take place at Creech St Michael Baptist church in Taunton on the 3rd March at 12pm. We are hoping there will be a live stream for those not able to attend in person.

Address: St Michael Road, Creech St Michael, Taunton. TA3 5QQ

Axe Valley Christian Trust has now become Upcott Christian Trust CIO. A Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) is a registered company designed for charitable organisations. The Charities Commission is actively encouraging all charities to migrate to this new form of legal construct, as a more transparent and accountable form for charities in the future. Therefore, the Trustees made the decision for Upcott to become a CIO recognising that this new legal form is more appropriate, transparent and fit for purpose as we go forward.

Practically, becoming a CIO means that we have a new charity number, new bank accounts, a new database and new Gift Aid information. As a result, if you are connected to Upcott in any way (e.g. a financial giver, or on our database) we need to get new permissions from you!

Please complete the online form if you would like to hear about anything from Upcott in the future:

We will not contact you and you will not receive any updates or mailings from us once the transition to the CIO happens if you do not fill out this form!

Thank you for all your support and involvement over the years.

Ange’s niece has asked us to let everyone know that Ange’s funeral will be 1pm on Monday 31 July at St Gregory's Church at Seaton, with family burial, and then tea in the Church Hall afterwards.

For all of you who knew Ange Scoble (one of Upcott's earliest team members), here is a message from Dick and Eileen Bell (founder).

Dear All,

It is with the saddest of privileges that I write to tell you that dear
Ange went home to be with her wonderful Saviour Jesus at about 6pm this Sunday evening.

This is an end to an era. This is Ange's last chapter, and we can all
close the book of her life, giving God so many thanks for a wonderful life of care, service and much love. Ange was held in great esteem and close friendship by so many around the world. We will all miss her enormously, holding her high on our honours list. She, like so many of her friends, will bring to our remembrance the joy of the Lord and the steadfast reliance of the God who loved her and held her close to Him throughout her life. Please be grateful as you grieve, and please do so with thanksgiving. God made a gentle, honest and honourable lady to live amongst us, beautifying our lives with her kindness. What a privilege it has been to live our lives in the company and companionship of such a
beautiful lady.

She will be much missed. We who are temporarily left will one day catch up with her in the heaven made for all those who love Jesus.

With many blessings on you all, Dick and Eileen (Bell).

Over the last two months we've been running our second module in the Young Leader's programme on the power of the Holy Spirit. The emphasis has been on practically developing our skills in listening to and obeying the Holy Spirit. This weekend half of the group met together in Bristol as part of the module. During the weekend, we joined a meeting on zoom with St Michael's Church Mission Action Prayer with their partners in Moldova, praying for the work they are doing. We also attended Cairn's Road Baptist Church on Sunday to support Ethan speaking and be an encouragement there.

This week Hannah and Alisha attended Mission Action Prayer meeting with St Michael's Stoke Gifford over Zoom. Here is an update from Alisha.

Last Friday the sale of The Beacon was completed. Before I drove down the drive for the last time I walked to the top of hill and looked down over the house and Minehead. As I stood there I felt the Holy Spirit say to me “This was perfect, but this is not now”. I hope you’re able to join us in giving thanks for all the wonderful things the Lord has done, both at Upcott and The Beacon, but I also hope you’re excited about the wonderful things that He’s going to do, that the core vision that Jeannie and Eileen had more than half a century ago is still alive and well and it is about to be expressed in new ways.
