It has been an incredible day today at the Methil Gala and we're really grateful to everyone who came along and gave us your support at this annual event which we organise for the community.
Big thanks to our Royal Party for this year- Casey, Lady Wellesley, Barry, Lord Wellesley, Lucy, our Town Crier, Amelia and Natalie our attendants, and Rory, Panashe and Nathan our Footmen. Every single one of them did themselves, their families and Aberhill Primary School proud today, especially Lucy who was an outstanding Town Crier! We were really sorry that Hollie, Tyrone and Holly were all ill, we missed you!
Many thanks to Dominic Currie for opening the Gala today, he was amazing and wonderful to have a local hero opening it. The Provost of Fife, Jim Leishman, did an excellent job crowning Lord and Lady Wellesley, and the time he spent meeting the children was truly special.
Big thank you's go to the wonderful dancers, singers, entertainers who were all excellent and kept everyone entertained all day. Similarly the help and support we had from Methil Sea & Royal Marine Cadets - TS Ajax and PSYV Levenmouth was superb and deeply appreciated.
However, the biggest thank you goes to our amazing band of volunteers who stocked and manned all the stalls, they worked incredibly hard and our cafe team were simply in a class of the own, how you cooked and served so many people was quite something and your hard work is deeply appreciated.
Some final and special thanks go to Maureen Nicholson our terrific photographer, Mairi, our excellent centre manager who organised the event, Ivan and Dean for being our MC's, all the charities who came and the ice cream Lady, popcorn and candy floss, selfie pod, face painting, bouncy castles, and countless helpers today, including Police Scotland and Stagecoach for the car and bus.
Things don't just happen, so to every helper, Raymond from the Council for bringing the staging and sound system and the army of helpers who cleared up and ensured everything was back to normal- thank you. As usual, the last person to leave the building is our marvellous cleaner/caretaker Louise who has swept, mopped and reset the whole Centre for us, you and Ryan did an incredible job!
Thank you might be two small words but they're big ones when an event like this takes so many people so thank you to one and all and here's to Methil Gala 2027!
