Managing the Authority given to you by God

It is important that as Christians, we evaluate how we exercise the authority given to us by God. This applies to us regardless of where we find ourselves, as priests, parents, law makers, politicians, employers, civil servants, managers of businesses and organisations, healthcare professionals. Do not act as if you own the authority you exercise? Also, remember that because that authority is donated to you, it is always transient. Ideally, authority can loosely be interpreted to mean special licence; It is the authority to exercise power. So, God can withdraw that licence. He can decide to shake it up any time. So, use it well while you have it.

2026 First Holy Communion

We had a wonderful celebration at St Giles for the First Holy Communion of our four kids. Many thanks to the teachers at St Agatha's Primary, the many volunteers who helped to prepare them and the Church for the day, the St Giles Tea Group, and the parents of the kids who are the real champions. May Jesus Christ in the Eucharist continue to be the light leading these kids even as they grow.

If you missed the 2026 Filipino Night, it was a big miss. We were treated to a 5-star experience. Many thanks to our Filipino parishioners for the wonderful organization and ex*****on. Many thanks also to the parishioners who attended and took the opportunity to dance, laugh, eat and drink, and have fun in God's house. Next year, we go bigger.
