Resonate

Resonate Vision: To be creative followers of Jesus and see God revealed to and in all people. To discuss and reflect on our own journey and perspective.

Mission: To gather as a community and embrace people anywhere on their journey with God. To share our perspectives and experiences of worship whether in music, literature, film, social justice or art. To create individual and community worship to God and apply to our daily lives. Values:

Welcoming – to be hospitable and inclusive to all. Challenging – to participate in an environment pursuing gr

owth. Respectful – to recognise that we will all have different perspectives, theologies, experiences, backgrounds, expressions and passions and very likely we will not all share these and need to honour each other. Safe – no matter where you are on a journey with God you are part of the community. Honest – a place where you feel you can be you.

Such a good evening yesterday, hearing Annie Evans talking about modern slavery. We heard some sad stories, but also found out what to do if you think someone might need help. Annie gave a really clear presentation, and we had the opportunity to ask questions, and discuss some real-life cases. If you'd like to learn more, or report a concern, see the Unseen website: https://www.unseenuk.org/

Our next gathering in the cafe at Saint Stephen's church will be on Tuesday 2nd June. We'll be learning more about such an important topic: Modern Slavery. We're very glad to welcome Annie Evans, who works with Unseen, the anti-slavery charity. Come along to learn about their work, and ask questions. The usual arrangements - we gather at 7.30 pm for a light supper, hot drinks and chat. The meeting will run from 8.00 to 9.00 pm. Everyone welcome, just turn up.

Big thank you to Patrick Stonehewer for a fascinating talk with slides, about his pilgrimage from Cape Wrath (north west Scotland) to Dover (south east England). Wow! Such an epic challenge, and so interesting to hear about all the practical details, the wonderful people he met on the way, the number of churches he visited, the varied weather and landscapes. Patrick described how this was a spiritual journey, as well as a physical one. If you'd like to read more, there's a link to his blog in the comment below.

Do join us for our gathering on Tuesday 5th May, when local Methodist minister, Patrick Stonehewer, will tell us all about the special Pilgrimage he made during a 3-month sabbatical. We meet in the cafe at Saint Stephen's church in the centre of Bristol. Arrive at 7.30 pm for a light supper (often bread and soup), and a chance to chat. Then the main part of the meeting is from 8 to 9 pm. Patrick will talk about his pilgrimage, and then we'll open it up to questions from the audience. All welcome. Free, but donations to cover food costs are welcome.

Travel Tales! From a radical nun to a little house on a prairie, via Bali, Kenya, mountains (some unseen, some inspirational, some vomit inducing), the tales were many at our Travel themed evening. Some wolfed down with cocktails, some poetic and kingly, one was dubiously connected to travel and one along the B6029 starting just before the turn off to Little Puking. A great start Resonate 2026 with our community storytelling.

Don't miss our gathering this Tuesday evening! A lovely way to start the year.
