Stirring up

25/10/2026

A lovely, early, stir up Sunday today for our intergenerational service.

The children joined Jo in adding ingredients to the pot and then the congregation thought of faith related words starting with the same letter as each ingredient.

Our young people have also been stirring up, both in terms of trying to achieve their £10 challenge and also in their kitchens with two more sales going on today. Well done to them!

Today Sunday school had a safeguarding session and learning about sharing their roar (speaking up for themselves or others when worried and upset) They learned who they can talk to at church.
They shared a memory verse and an interactive prayer.

Proverbs 31 v 8

Well done Hannah and Hope on kick-starting your £10 challenge. The girls had made a delicious cake (which was still warm!) and sold it all. Thanks to those who supported them.

It was lovely to have Father Benedict with us preaching and presiding today. Well done to Sunday School for sharing with us today.

Today we celebrated Harvest - a bit thank you to those who decorated the church so beautifully and to all those who brought in food donations, these will be taken to St Mary's Pantry.

Today we also launched two further fundraising initiatives for our Safe and Sound appeal.

Firstly many people have taken home a jar to fill with silver coins and return to church when full.

Secondly our Ascenders group have each been given £10, after reflecting on the parable of the talents, they are going to try to make their £10 grow. They have until 15th November. Watch this space and please do support them in any way you can.

Church is looking wonderful, ready for our Harvest Festival tomorrow.

Please, if you are able, remember to bring along donations of tinned food etc.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Wonderful intergenerational service today, in which we reflected on who we have authority over and who has authority over us. We wrote this on praying hands, Jo read the Nick Butterworth version of the parable.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to our fundraising quiz today. We all enjoyed a wonderful quiz with thanks to Paul and Melissa and lots of yummy cake provided by members of our congregation.

We are thrilled to say we have raised around £200 with a final figure to be announced.

We were also delighted to have been able to accept a cheque from Lions who have very generously contributed £250 to our Safe and Sound appeal. This is fantastic and very much appreciated.

A big well done to our winners William Denim. And to David who won our heads and tails game.
