🌟 Frankley Great Park Residents 🌟

We're coming together for a community clean-up day in our ward, and it would be fantastic to see as many of you there as possible!

Let's work together to keep Frankley Great Park looking clean, tidy and something we can all be proud of. The more people who get involved, the bigger the difference we can make.

All equipment will be provided, so just bring yourself, your enthusiasm and a pair of sturdy shoes!

And after all our hard work, we may even head for a well-earned drink together. 🍻

Come along, get involved, and help make a positive impact in our community

Hope to see you there!

Lovely picture of the Church in this article 🙏😊

'This can't be it?' I said to myself as I pulled up to the tucked-away old 'lunatic asylum' in Northfield.

On the skyline, the old water tower of what used to be the Rubery Hill Hospital loomed large over a more modern complex, home to the little shop I was seeking out just a 15 minute walk from Great Park.

I shuddered to think of what life might have been like there in 1904 for Brummies like me, neurodevelopmentally disordered and prone to the occasional fit of 18th century women's hysteria.

As I stood next to the Grade II-listed chapel that remains, I marvelled at how lovely and warm it all felt here in 2026. 😍

To answer my question from the start, this was, in fact, 'it'. The shop I'd been looking for.

I followed the signs to 'The Scrapstore' past boxes of fresh tree plums that were free to finders and meandered through the complex to the sound of a dance troupe practicing their latest number.

🏥The hospital was used through both World Wars to treat troops that had seen hell.
