Tomorrow morning, we will gather together to reconnect and celebrate the ending of summer and the start of a new season filled with both familiar and novel experiences.

We’ll meet in the back gardens at 22 Willow at 11AM for worship and communion, followed by a relaxed time of potluck, conversation, and space for kids to run and play.

We’ll have water and a sweet treat on hand.

What to Bring:
- A potluck dish to share (nut-free, please)
- Lawn chairs and/or blanket
- Outdoor games
- Your own water bottle

If you find yourself able to join us at the last minute or aren’t able to contribute a dish to share at this time, please do join us! There will be plenty of food to enjoy together.

Yesterday, we wrapped up our Noticing God summer series by hearing from Keith Martin, a member of our Elevation community who is no longer able to join us in person regularly. Keith shared about his health journey over the past few years and the intentional ways he has found to notice and experience God’s presence, even in the midst of suffering and unexpected crisis.

Together, we explored the difficult questions of how we hold on to hope and find joy through seasons of suffering. While there are no easy answers, we found encouragement in making space to listen to one another’s stories and experiences with honesty and curiosity.

This coming Sunday we will close our Noticing God Summer series by hearing from one of our Elevation community members who is no longer able to join us in person regularly. Keith Martin will share with us about the health journey that he has been on over the last few years, and how he is finding intentional ways to notice and experience God’s presence, even in the midst of suffering and unexpected crisis.
How do we hold on to hope or find joy as we walk through these seasons of suffering? There are no easy answers to this question, and yet we can find deep encouragement as we hold space to listen to one another’s stories and experiences. We look forward to gathering together to explore these questions with honesty and curiosity.

Our KidsQuest classes will also have their last Summer KidsQuest day! To those Grade 5’s who will be with us for the last time (until you’re old enough to volunteer as helpers), we hope you have a great last day at KidsQuest!

Yesterday, we continued our Noticing God series by exploring the practice of intentional attention. If we believe God created the world and is present everywhere, what might it look like to pay attention to God everywhere, too? Together, we reflected on how noticing the Holy Spirit doesn’t have to be limited to explicitly “Christian” places or content, but can happen in the ordinary, mundane moments of everyday life. We considered what we might learn and experience if we intentionally watched and listened for God in everything around us.

Yesterday, we continued our Noticing God series by exploring rest as a spiritual practice. Together, we considered how easily spiritual practices can become something we feel we need to do “perfectly”—even when we’re trying to rest. We reflected on ways to pursue rest while honouring our own needs, listening to our bodies, and learning to be gentle with ourselves.

A reminder that we’ll be taking the 2nd of our Community Rest weekends for the upcoming long weekend. This means that there will be NO SUNDAY GATHERING ON AUGUST 2ND!

We hope that this break is a small way of saying thank you and allowing all of our Sunday morning volunteers a chance to rest and reset.

This past Sunday, we continued our Noticing God series by reflecting on the practice of spending time alone with God. Looking to the life and ministry of Jesus, we explored how he intentionally withdrew to quiet places and invited us to consider the value of silence and solitude in our own lives. Together, we reflected on how these practices can create space to notice God's presence, deepen our relationship with him, and bring renewal amid the noise of everyday life.

🚨 Reminder: Fire Drill Tomorrow 🚨

As part of our Sunday gathering tomorrow, we'll be practising our annual fire drill.

KidsQuest will complete their own drill just before 10AM, with leaders guiding children safely to the back garden. The rest of our community will participate in the fire drill at the end of our Discussion Tables, around 10:30AM. If you're collecting children from KidsQuest, please make your way directly to the back garden after you've exited the building.

Thanks for helping us make this an effective practice so we're prepared if we ever need the real thing!
