Hi Church Family,

October is “Pastor’s Appreciation Month”, which provides us with an opportunity to honour those who faithfully shepherd us. Let’s take a moment to LIKE and COMMENT with a word of encouragement to them as they continue in their ministry at WPA!

“Kind words are like honey—sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.” (Proverbs 16:24)

Thank you,

Pastor Chris

Worship is more than the songs we sing. It’s a response to who God is, a reminder of His goodness, and an opportunity to turn our hearts and attention back to Him. 🤍

When we gather together as the Church to lift up the name of Jesus, we remind one another of the hope we have in Him. No matter what the week has held or what season we find ourselves in, He is faithful, He is good, and He is always worthy of our praise.

“Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised.” — Psalm 145:3 🙌

What a privilege it is to gather together, lift our voices, and worship Him!

There was a lot to be thankful for this Sunday. ❤️

We worshipped together, continued through Messy Church, and were challenged to remember that following Jesus reaches into every part of how we live. Christian living is not simply about what we believe. It is a life surrendered to Christ.

And today was extra special as we celebrated 10 years of Pastor Chris serving as Lead Pastor at WPA! 🎉

We’re grateful for a decade of leadership, faithfulness and a continued commitment to seeing WPA become all that God has called us to be.

What a Sunday. What a church family. And what a faithful God.

Happy Thanksgiving, WPA! 🍂

A unified church is not a perfect church.
It is a church full of imperfect people learning to choose the way of Christ over their own.

Last week, Pastor Chris opened Messy Church by looking at the division happening in Corinth and the call to put Christ back at the centre.

Tomorrow, we continue through 1 Corinthians and turn our attention to Christian living, because following Jesus is not only about what we believe. It has to shape the way we actually live.

How do we follow Christ faithfully when life, relationships and even church can get messy?

New month, new series ❤️‍🔥 Join us this morning as Pastor Chris kicks off our new Bible Engagement Series called “Messy Church”.

The church is often a messy place, as it is made up of imperfect people. The Corinthians were a church filled with the Spirit, but they faced struggles, had questions and experienced failures—not unlike us. Whether facing challenges within the church or pressures from the world, these letters remind us that God’s power meets us at our point of weakness and that Christ continually transforms messy churches into faithful ones 🙏

Don’t forget to follow along in our Bible Engagement App and participate in discussion as we journey this series together!

The best part of Sunday? Doing it together 🤍 Sunday is coming, and we’d love to have you with us!

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour and reflect upon the children who never returned home and the Survivors, families and communities who continue to carry the impact of residential schools.
As a church, we also recognize that the history of residential schools includes the involvement of Christian churches. Reconciliation requires us to be willing to face the truth with humility, to listen, and to continue learning. Our hearts for the First Nation Peoples of Canada and active reconciliation efforts are reflected in our partnership with Fort Severn Pentecostal Assembly .
We are grateful for the relationships that are beginning there and for everything we were able to learn simply by being present and listening during our time with them this month.
Today is not about telling our story.
It is an opportunity to listen to the stories of Indigenous peoples, honour those who have carried them, and consider how we can continue walking toward reconciliation.

Today we celebrated the ministry that God has done through Pastor Andrew Brown during his time at WPA. Our church, and its ministries are filled with people who have been impacted by his leadership and we honour him for his years of kingdom investment ❤️‍🔥

Thank you, Pastor Andrew for all you’ve sown into this next generation. We trust that the Lord is with you and goes before you as you step into this next season 🙏

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” —Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬
