MEMBER’S MEETING
Following the worship service today there will be a short covenant members’ meeting to provide an update and complete the necessary process regarding our building purchase.

RHYTHM AND GRACE EVENT
Come out and enjoy a free Celtic Gospel concert this afternoon at 3:00 at the Chapel. Rhythm and Grace (Alex & Miriam Duketow and their 9 children) from Peterborough, Ontario will be performing. No tickets are required to attend, and there will be a freewill offering to support children’s education in Latin America through Generation Rising.

CORPORATE FASTING
Each new month, we give an opportunity for congregants to join us in fasting before the Lord, humbling ourselves and seeking Him in prayer. Anyone is welcome to join on the first and/or second day of the month. To join the email list on Church Social, please speak to Heidi.

SUMMER RHYTHM
As City Groups officially wrap up for the season, please note that Further Study questions will be on hiatus until the fall. Please watch the calendar, as we look to bring back “Patio Hymns” for another summer season. If you would like to help put these nights on, please contact elder Matt or Heidi.

AN OMER OF MANNA
This month’s featured book called “You’re not Enough (and that's OK)” offers a timely biblical response to one of the most common messages in our culture: Believe in yourself. Allie Beth Stuckey helps expose the emptiness of self-centred thinking and points us instead to the sufficiency of Christ. Honest, accessible, and grounded in Scripture, this is a helpful read for anyone seeking deeper confidence—not in self, but in the Lord.

MONTHLY BBQ POTLUCK
Please join us as we welcome back the season of BBQ potlucks! Through the summer months, starting in June and Lord willing ending in September, we will be having our potlucks in the park. Immediately following the service, we will head over to Riverside Park. Please bring your own meat to grill, and a side or dessert to share. Please also bring your own chairs, plates, utensils, and anything else your family needs. In the event of inclement weather, we will stay at the chapel and pull the grill up to the steps to enjoy. Looking forward to a great season of potluck fellowship outside! Our first BBQ potluck will be held next week Sunday, June 7.

WEDDING SHOWER
Save the date! There will be a wedding shower for Pamela Veldman on Saturday, June 20 from 1:00-3:00.

MINISTRY HIGHLIGHT
Thank you to everyone serving in our children's ministries at City Chapel! We praise God for our little ones and deeply appreciate our nursery teams caring for children aged 2 and under, as well as our Sunday School teachers delivering Biblical lessons to kids aged 2 to 7. Please pray for God to work in the hearts of our youngest members and to encourage our volunteers. If you would like to serve, please contact Kristina Smith for the nursery or Brittany Halsey for Sunday School. ......................................................

FRIENDSHIP PADS
New to City Chapel? Have a prayer request or other information you’d like to share with the elders? Please feel free to use the friendship pads (available at the end of each pew/row). Forms can be dropped in the wooden offering box located next to the front door. ......................................................

DEACONS ON DUTY
Every month, one or two deacons serve as the main point(s) of contact for all things falling under the deacons’ purview. The "deacons on duty" for June are Logan Nielsen and Jon Spijksma. If you require deacon assistance, please speak to Logan or Jon; the deacons can also be reached by email at [email protected].
.......................................................

WESTMINSTER SHORTER CATECHISM
Q. 90) How is the Word to be read and heard, that it may become effectual to salvation?

CATECHISM FOR YOUNG CHILDREN

PARENTS AND CHILDREN
With the warmer weather, and as the Chapel is often quite full following worship each Lord’s Day, families are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to visit outdoors. However, due to the inherent hazards of a parking lot, as well as the various kinds of litter that may occasionally be present, parents are strongly urged to maintain full supervision of their children at all times.......................................................

WESTMINSTER SHORTER CATECHISM
Q. 89) How is the Word made effectual to salvation?

CATECHISM FOR YOUNG CHILDREN
Q. 47) How could the Son of God suffer?
A) Christ, the Son of God, became man that he might obey and suffer in our nature.
.......................................................

FURTHER STUDY QUESTIONS

1 Thessalonians 5:11-13

1. In what ways does Paul connect encouragement, honour, and peace within the life of the church, and what does this reveal about God’s design for healthy Christian community and faithful church leadership?

2. Paul commands believers to “esteem them very highly in love because of their work." What attitudes, habits, or cultural assumptions commonly hinder Christians from rightly honouring faithful elders and spiritual labourers today?
