SEPTEMBER BBQ POTLUCK
With next Sunday being on the long weekend, we want to let everyone know that our BBQ potluck will be postponed to the following Sunday, September 13.

AN OMER OF MANNA
The resources on our bookshelf are intentionally selected to place good books into hands and homes by donation (in specifically marked envelopes), which is used for the purchase of more resources for the bookshelf. This month, we are featuring “The Humility Project” by Edward T. Welch, as he examines the pride that so easily takes root in our hearts and calls us to the Christlike humility that puts God and others before self. Welch helpfully reminds us that humility is not thinking less of ourselves, but thinking rightly about ourselves in light of God’s grace. Short, practical, and searching, this book is a helpful invitation to follow Christ, who “humbled himself” for our salvation.

MINISTRY HIGHLIGHT THANK-YOU
This week we want to publicly thank the Lord for our Elders and Deacons. Following the New Testament pattern, our elders faithfully provide spiritual care and oversight for our church family. Scripture tells us this office is worthy of great honor, so let’s make their labor a joy through our encouragement. We also celebrate our deacons, who follow the model of Acts 6 by managing our practical needs and stewarding our resources to advance the gospel. Please join us in prayer for these men this week. Ask God to grant them wisdom, health, and encouragement as they shepherd and serve the flock at City Chapel. ......................................................

FRIENDSHIP PADS
New to City Chapel? Have a prayer request or other information you’d like to share with the elders? Please feel free to use the friendship pads (available at the end of each pew/row). Forms can be dropped in the wooden offering box located next to the front door. ......................................................

DEACONS ON DUTY
Every month, two deacons serve as the main points of contact for all things falling under the deacons’ purview. The "deacons on duty" for September are Mike Howell and Joel Pilon. If you require deacon assistance, please speak to Mike or Joel; the deacons can also be reached by email at [email protected].
.......................................................

WESTMINSTER SHORTER CATECHISM
Q. 103) What do we pray for in the third petition?
A) In the third petition, which is, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven, we pray, that God, by his grace, would make us able and willing to know, obey, and submit to his will in all things, as the angels do in heaven.

CATECHISM FOR YOUNG CHILDREN
Q. 61) How were pious persons saved before the coming of Christ?
A) By believing in a Saviour to come.

NEW BUILDING, PRAISE GOD
Praise God for the blessing of our new building and the many hands that have come together to make this happen. Many strong hands came together to move everything in, handle details with accounts, paperwork, ownership transfers, etc. Just like moving into a new home, some things take time to get set up, and you may move the couch more than once as you figure out the best fit, but we have a new place to call home, and we give God the glory for it! May it be an instrument to further the gospel of Jesus Christ in our city.

This practical book offers biblical encouragement to embrace the local church—not merely attending, but by giving, serving, welcoming, praying, and growing together. Whether you are a new believer or have walked with the Lord for decades, this accessible book will strengthen your love for Christ by deepening your appreciation for His bride.
