As we journey through the book of Proverbs in our "The Way of Wisdom" series, we're hearing from CrossRoads staff as they share what God has been teaching them through each chapter.
Today, Pastor Tracy reflects on Proverbs 8, where Wisdom calls us to listen, learn, and follow God's ways. Proverbs 8 reminds us that fearing God isn't about being afraid of Him, but about living with awe and reverence for who He is and choosing to submit to His ways. Tracy shares how this chapter gives us a practical picture of what it looks like to live wisely. As God changes our hearts, we begin to love what He loves and turn away from pride, arrogance, evil, and hurtful words.
After spending many years living and working in Africa, Pastor Tracy was especially encouraged by the reminder that God's wisdom is available to everyone. It isn't reserved for those who are wealthy, educated, or have everything figured out. God's wisdom is more valuable than anything we could accumulate, and His way leads to true life and lasting blessing.
Ultimately, wisdom isn't simply about knowing the right things: it's about allowing God to change who we are and how we live. As she encourages us to consider: What is God teaching me to love, and what is God teaching me to hate?
