Hello, how have you been?
I pray that you stay healthy in this sudden cold weather.
From mid-October to mid-November, we visited Korea for a month due to family matters. For Pastor Oh, it was his first visit in 14 years, and for us as a couple, it was the first time traveling together to Korea in 30 years since moving to Canada. We felt sorry for leaving our positions as the eldest son and daughter to our younger siblings and their families.
We were grateful to have the opportunity to meet Sister S, who had returned to Korea, to comfort and encourage her.
Sister K, who has been caring for her parents with dementia, has missed her chance to marry. She has been living without hope and has forgotten how to smile due to severe depression. Spending time to encourage her was truly meaningful. Upon returning to Canada and staying in touch, her voice has brightened. We will continue to pray and support her so that she does not lose hope in life.
We also met our university ministry leader after 30 years. They are still living out the gospel with the same passion they had in their college days, trying to embody it in their life. Honest and resilient, more than anyone else, they were a great blessing to us.
While in Korea, we decided to create a new calendar for the upcoming year. Pastor Oh selected photos taken in the north, and Designer J designed the calendar and connected us to a publisher. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has shown love through this project.
When we returned to our home in Canada, the car battery was dead, and the house was freezing. After repairing the heater, the temperature dropped below freezing the next day. We now understand why we were advised to replace the electric panel. We would appreciate your prayers for $8,000 to be raised to cover the heating repair costs and for us to endure the winter safely.
We need to transport items to the service center, but continuous snowfall has made it impossible to move. Additionally, we have been unable to visit a deaconess in the north who requested help after her car was stolen. We hope to visit her this year.
A new young member started attending our church during the first week of October. He quietly cleans the pulpit whenever he comes to church. We can only thank God for sending us such a precious brother.
Havruta is the educational method and culture of the Jewish people. It involves asking and answering questions, engaging in debates, and learning through discussion. We plan to use Havruta as a tool for building relationships with non-believers in places where directly sharing the gospel is not possible.
The North America Talmud Havruta begins on December 12, and the Asia Talmud Havruta starts on November 28 with participants from Korea, India, Japan, and Malaysia. This program will run weekly for the next five months.
Our prayer meetings and Korean language classes have resumed. We are also preparing for a Christmas dinner party on December 20 for the local Korean community. We hope to celebrate Jesus' birthday meaningfully and are busy preparing gifts, main dishes, decorations, programs, and games. We pray that talented individuals will help us.
Pastor Oh is waiting for an ultrasound on his shoulder. For months, he has been taking painkillers and sleeping with his arm raised like the Statue of Liberty. Please pray for his healing and relief from pain.
The fact that Prince George Korean Church continues to exist is thanks to the prayers, care, and love of so many. The invisible work and what seems like an impossible mission have been sustained through your prayers. We’ve made it through this year because of your support.
The Prince George Korean Church and the Canadian Service Center are sincerely grateful. We pray daily, naming each one of you, asking for God’s blessings as we prepare for the coming year. We are truly thankful, respectful, and appreciative.
May this Christmas season be blessed and meaningful for you. Merry Christmas! 🎄
