Cornerstone Church

Cornerstone Church To bring about transformation by making Disciples of Christ through the proclamation of the Gospel by word and deed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Equip people for God’s service through the five- fold ministry of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers (Ephesians 4:11). The objectives of the ministry are fulfilled in unity through team work. Manifestation of the Holy Spirit through different kinds of gifts and services (1 Corinthians 12). To be filled and guided by the Holy Spirit as promised (Acts 1:8). To interact and bring t

o fold of Christ people belonging to different nations, languages and culture. To associate and partner with other Christian leaders to establish New Testament churches among the unreached people. The basic requirements of the ministers is godliness, servant leadership, kindness, integrity with sound doctrine.

Thought for the day: Disciples went for a three-year degree course in the University of Jesus. Interestingly, this university did not have set syllabus. No pen or paper or classroom was used. It was an on-the-field training. At the final exam, most of them could not fare well for the farewell of their Master who taught them tirelessly. Someone even went back to their old profession of fishing after Jesus died. But the very same disciples who could not fare well on the day of crucifixion of Jesus, suddenly found a rejuvenated strength.

Very seldom Jews and Romans would have understood the sudden transformation of these disciples who even died for Jesus as they went all across the world. This is the power of resurrection. Acts 1:8 says: But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

When the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit, they received power. They witnessed to everyone they met. They witnessed to Jerusalem (their own family), all Judea (their distant relatives) and Samaria (even to the ones who were enemies or rivals) and to the ends of the earth.

If we are filled with the Holy Spirit, then we have received power. The power to witness to everyone we meet. I sincerely pray that we will truly believe in the supremacy of the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

My thought for the day: Cross is the place where Satan is defeated. The cross is the place where neither he nor his demons can touch you! It is the place of safety, the place of victory, and it is there that the promise is fulfilled: “For sin shall not have dominion over you” (Romans 6:14)

Lots of people have died on the cross like Jesus. But Jesus Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven and is now sitting at the right hand of the Father.

None accomplished what Jesus finally accomplished on the cross. By His death on the cross, He has conquered sin, death, sickness. Cross is merely pieces of wood. It is the work of Jesus on the cross that made the whole difference. Cross did not save us. Jesus saved us.

Cross is the place where criminals were executed. Without resurrection crucifixion was just an ex*****on. 1 Cor 15:14 says: If Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless.

Today in many parts of the world, people are trying to emulate crucifixion. They carry the cross. Nailed to the cross even. But alas, they cannot bear the sins of mankind. All these works are futile because He has done it once and for all. Jesus Christ has conquered. We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. Amen

Today, the world is looking at what Jesus did for us on the cross - His ultimate sacrifice for the salvation of humanity. We are reminded of the selflessness and compassion exemplified by Jesus, and we are called to emulate these virtues in our own lives.

This sermon is a powerful reminder of the boundless grace and mercy that we receive through the sacrifice of Jesus. May we be inspired to live our lives with compassion, forgiveness, and grace, as we seek to honor the sacrifice made on this day. May this Good Friday be a time of deep reflection and spiritual growth, as we remember the incredible love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Thank you.
