Pastor Samuel Cole Nicolas of Jesus Is Alive Community Waterloo Region continued his series entitled "God Over Everything." In this message, "Prepared by the Word," we were reminded that following Jesus begins with denying ourselves. As Jesus taught, self-denial is not optional, it is the very first step of discipleship. To deny ourselves means surrendering our own desires, plans, and pride, and choosing God's will above our own. True discipleship requires laying down our lives daily, trusting that God's ways are greater, and allowing His Word to shape and transform us. When God is over everything, we learn to say no to ourselves so we can fully say yes to Him.

"Then Jesus said to His disciples, 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.'" – Matthew 16:24* ✨🙌

When God is over everything, everything finds its proper place.

Last Sunday, we were reminded through Colossians 1:15–20 that Jesus is preeminent above all creation. He is the image of the invisible God and the Living Word through whom all things were created and sustained.

Everything exists through Him, for Him, and finds its true purpose in Him. As we put Christ first, He brings order to our lives and transforms us to reflect His glory. ❤️
