In Saint Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, he says: Eph. 2:10 “ We are God’s work of art, God’s masterpieces.” How do you feel as you hear me say that? Can you truly say ”Yes” to that? Are you really comfortable hearing me say to you: “YOU are God’s masterpiece!” I think we can easily and readily forget the truth of that. Yet, it is true. Each one of us has been created by God, uniquely and individually with our own personalities, gifts, talents and abilities. Each one of us with a different DNA, and different physical appearance, etc. Each one is a one-of-a-kind creation! Each one of us is part of God’s on-going creation! That is something to think about isn’t it!

A Practice of Listening: What We Carry is a three-hour, in-person poetry mini-retreat for up to 25 young people aged 12–20. It offers a creative and reflective pause midway through the school term. Through selected poems, guided listening and discussion, reflection, drafting, and revision, participants will explore qualities such as courage, kindness, integrity, perseverance, friendship, gratitude, and hope—and consider what they wish to carry into the months ahead. Each participant will have the opportunity to develop an original poem and receive guidance in reading it aloud. Participation in the closing sharing will be entirely voluntary. Parents and guardians may be invited to join the final 25–30 minutes for informal listening and sharing.

This year, our goal for the Annual Tea Party Fundraiser is to raise funds toward the purchase of a brand-new Ford cargo van to replace our current vehicle, which has served the FCJ Centre faithfully for 14 years. The van was purchased second-hand and is now in need of replacement.

We aim to raise $50,000 toward the total cost of $80,000 to help ensure safe and reliable transportation.

Half the pot goes to the winner—half goes to enhancing the Centre’s safety.

Thank you for your generosity. Together, we can make a lasting difference.
