Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary! 💙

Today we rejoice in God's immense love as we honor Our Lady being taken up body and soul into heavenly glory.

The faithful gathered at Pabalelong Hospice to pray and ask the blessed Virgin Mary to interecede for those carrying the heavy cross of illness our two main celebrant being Fr Pako Rantutu and Fr Wilbroad. We prayed that Our Mother who stood faithfully at her Son's cross may envelop all those in the pains of illness with her love, peace and offer comfort to their hearts. May her gentle motherly intercession guide us closer to Christ every day, fill our homes with peace, and remind us of the glorious hope that awaits us in heaven. Amen!

Today our parish rejoiced as we celebrated the Baptism and First Holy Communion of our catechism students! 🕊️✨ We officially welcome these young souls into the Catholic Church as they receive the living presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist for the very first time. May God bless them and their families abundantly as they walk in His light! Congratulations!🥳🥰

Today, 12 August 2026, we joyfully celebrate and give thanks to God for the 25th Priestly Anniversary of Rev. Fr. Wilbrod Bimanyiromwe, AJ. The Dean for Kweneng Deanery.

Fr. Wilbroad was ordained to the priesthood on 12 August 2001, and today marks 25 years of faithful priestly ministry. We thank God for his dedication, sacrifice, guidance and service to the people of God throughout his years of ministry in Botswana.

During his priestly ministry in Botswana, Fr. Wilbroad has served in different Catholic communities, including:
St. Paul Catholic Church, Mochudi
Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, Thamaga
Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Metsimotlhabe
St. Placid Catholic Church, Mmopane

Each parish has been blessed by his presence, pastoral care, wisdom, and commitment to the Church.

On this special milestone, St. Placid Catholic Church, Mmopane, together with all the communities he has served, wishes you, Fr. Wilbroad Bimanyiromwe, AJ, a blessed and joyful 25th Priestly Anniversary.
