“For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones” (Matthew 24:24, NLT).
It is a sobering and vital hour for the body of Christ. We are living in a time that demands profound spiritual strength, unyielding sobriety, and a fierce, uncompromising commitment to the truth of Almighty God. Across Christian circles and online platforms today, a dangerous wave of emotionalism and spiritual blindness has taken root. Believers are being swept up in passionate commentary and so-called “prophetic” endorsements of Pauline Hanson. Now, let me be clear: it is entirely commendable to care about the civic direction of our nation, and Australians have every right to expect practical common sense from our public life. But we must pause, humble ourselves before God, and face a hard, sobering reality: Is this political infatuation built upon the solid rock of Scripture, or is it a flash flood of fleshly, emotional reaction?
𝘈 𝘉𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 & 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦
Let me speak with unshakeable conviction and grace. While every human soul is an image-bearer of the Almighty loved by God, we must not confuse honouring a person with endorsing a system. Let it be plainly understood: when I describe Pauline Hanson's platform as morally and structurally “bankrupt”, I am cutting straight to the root of a failed political machinery. Yes, I respect Pauline Hanson as a human being, however, true spiritual maturity looks past political grandstanding, rejects a bankrupt platform without hesitation, and weighs every claim through the unsparing lens of Scripture rather than placing human politicians onto unearned, idolatrous spiritual pedestals.
When we observe the public conduct of Senator Pauline Hanson herself, the contrast with the fruit of the Spirit is stark and alarming. She consistently carries herself in an abrasive, angry, bitter, vengeful, disparaging, proud, and mocking spirit. Such a posture is fundamentally dysfunctional, corrosive, and spiritually toxic—traits that have no place being given a veneer of spiritual sanction or excused by followers of Christ.
This fire shut up in my bones—this deep, unyielding burden gripping my soul—is not to pander, but to sound a resolute and urgent alarm: to guard the church against the subtle, creeping trap of political idolatry, to strip away unverified and sensationalist prophetic falsehoods, and to call God's people back to rigorous, unwavering biblical discernment (diakrinó).
We have watched this exact delusion play out internationally. Figures like Donald Trump were often elevated by well-meaning believers as a type of spiritual deliverer for the United States. Yet even Trump himself publicly acknowledged that he is not the Saviour, pointing instead to Jesus Christ.
And yet, in Australia, many believers are repeating this exact error with Pauline Hanson, swallowing political packaging hook, line, and sinker. Let us be utterly clear: Pauline Hanson occupies an entirely different category. She has never confessed Christ, yet some Christians—egged on by independent prophetic voices—treat her as though she were an instrument of spiritual deliverance. It is a profound tragedy and an absurdity before heaven!
When I point out the simple, undeniable fact that she has never professed faith in Jesus Christ, I am met with fierce condemnation from fellow believers. Why? Because challenging these narratives strikes a nerve; it threatens a deeply entrenched political idol. This unyielding defence of a secular figure poisons the purity of the church and pulls our devotion away from the King of kings.
As faithful teachers like John Bevere have warned, Jesus continually cautioned His followers against being led astray by human hype, emotionalism, and spiritual sensationalism. When we abandon foundational biblical truth, we open the gates to a dangerous spiritual drift. As Scripture warns us: “For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear” (2 Timothy 4:3-4, NLT).
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘐𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨
Consider Mark Hemans, the itinerant minister of Jesus Encounter Ministries, who promotes subjective, unverified “Prophetic Words”. Months ago, Hemans shared a vision claiming God showed him Pauline Hanson would suddenly “blossom like a rose” in Australian politics.
In the holy fear of Almighty God, we must test and utterly reject such claims. Hemans operates as an unaccountable voice, promoting unbiblical methods—such as questionable deliverance rituals meant to cast demons out of born-again believers and even declaring generational curses over believers. Such practices fundamentally undermine the finished, all-sufficient work of Christ on Calvary and actually "fly in the face of" wholistic Hebrew philosophy which the Christian faith stems from. Don't forget Jesus was a Jew! Moving forward, Scripture declares in Galatians 3:13 (NLT): “Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, 'Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree'”. Because Jesus bore the ultimate curse and completely redeemed us, believers are sealed by the Holy Spirit and filled with His life; to subject a regenerated child of God to ritualistic exorcisms or to declare generational curses over them is to deny that the blood of Jesus cleanses and protects completely. Measured against the unsparing standard of Scripture and rigorous spiritual testing, Hemans' endorsements and political predictions collapse under their own weight, revealing themselves to be entirely misplaced and fundamentally untrustworthy.

The contagion does not stop there. Figures like Tweed Heads-based deliverance minister Selwyn van Wyk have plunged headfirst into political theatre. He released so-called prophetic declarations wrapped in spiritual language, cryptically predicting an unnamed “redhead” would sit on the throne before naming Pauline Hanson outright. Van Wyk framed this as a supernatural move of the Holy Spirit, claiming God heard her cries and that she stood on the shoulders of Christ. To compound the delusion, figures like Danny Nalliah have even claimed that Jesus personally appeared to them to declare Pauline Hanson will be Australia's next Prime Minister.
Packaging partisan preference in simulated trances and false declarations is not ministry; it is theatrical blasphemy. Their faith and words invested in Pauline Hanson are deeply misplaced—the work of independent, unaccountable figures attempting to sanctify a secular political platform with counterfeit divine authority.
While Scripture records genuine instances of political anointing—such as Samuel anointing David over Israel—those directives came through proven, accountable leadership under the direct, undeniable mandate of God, subject to strict obedience. By contrast, these modern prognosticators speak not from the throne room of God, but from their own imaginations, using His holy name to ride a wave of political populism; this is what I believe anyway. When I share a word, I tremble before God to ensure it is one hundred percent from Him. As the Lord thunders through Ezekiel: “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own imagination and have seen nothing!” (Ezekiel 13:3, NLT).
