The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated with a Vigil Mass on Friday at 6pm and mass on Saturday at 9am.

The Parish will be celebrating the Solemnity of St Mary Mackillop with mass on Saturday at 8am.

St Francis Xavier Cathedral will also be having a special mass at 12:10pm.

Happy World Grandparents day! May God bless all Grandparents and the important role that they have.

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲

Today, as we celebrate the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus, we give thanks for the grandparents and older people whose faith, wisdom and love enrich our families, parishes and communities.

The theme chosen by Pope Leo XIV for this year’s celebration is:

“I will never forget you.” (Isaiah 49:15)

May these words remind us that every older person is known and loved by God. Let us pray for our grandparents and elderly, particularly those who are lonely, unwell or grieving, and make time today to call, visit or share a moment with them.

Grant that I may not fear my weakness;
Help me learn to love it
Just as You love it.
Help me learn to listen to it

𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐠’𝐬 𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐥.

This will be much more than a visit to South Korea. It will be a journey through places of deep Catholic faith, courage and witness.

Before arriving in Seoul, pilgrims will visit significant sites connected to the Korean martyrs, including:

• 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 the burial place of St Andrew Kim Taegon, Korea’s first native-born Catholic priest

• 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞, a place of prayer and devotion to Our Lady

• 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐫𝐢 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲𝐫𝐬’ 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐞𝐦𝐢 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲𝐫𝐬’ 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞, places that honour those who gave their lives for the faith during times of persecution

The pilgrimage will then continue to Seoul for World Youth Day week, joining young Catholics from around the world for prayer, catechesis, festival events and major gatherings with Pope Leo XIV.

This is an opportunity to encounter Christ, deepen your faith and share an unforgettable journey with other young Catholics from across the Diocese.

We pray for all Mothers on this Mother's Day.

🌹 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐌𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑'𝐒 𝐃𝐀𝐘 🌹

On Mother’s Day, we give thanks for all mothers, grandmothers and mother figures, those who have nurtured us, prayed for us, guided us and loved us with quiet strength.

We also turn with love to Mary, Mother of God and our mother, honoured as a patroness of mothers and a sure companion in the life of faith.

In a recent message to a mother, Pope Leo XIV encouraged her to keep Mary as a firm point of reference amid life’s difficulties, reminding her that with Mary, every uncertainty can be faced.

May Mary draw close to all mothers today: those rejoicing, those grieving, those tired, those carrying hidden burdens, and those who long to be mothers. May she intercede for them and lead them always to her son.
