St Simon and St Jude were called out of their lives to follow Jesus.

After Pentecost, they travelled to North Africa, Asia, and Persia to spread the Good News.

They died proclaiming the truth of Christ's love for us.

Christ laid down His life for us.

And He's present for us in the Eucharist, His Body, given for us.

When he became the Pope and prepared to lead the Church, St John Paul II knew he was being called to a demanding mission.

But the secret to his day never changed. Jesus in the Eucharist continued to be his source of strength.

In the Eucharist, Christ's sacrifice unites Heaven with earth.

And in the Eucharist, Christ unites Himself to us.

This is true in St Peter's Basilica where St John Paul II often celebrated mass.

It's just as real in a small country church in Australia.

Jesus shows up for us in the same way.

What could change if we gave our whole selves to God?

“This is my body, given for you.” (Lk 22:19)

The theme of Eucharist28 brings us to the heart of Jesus’ love: He gives Himself completely for us. At the Last Supper, on the Cross and in the Eucharist, we encounter a love that holds nothing back.

As we receive Him, we are invited to let that love transform us and flow through us to others. In every act of kindness, every moment of forgiveness, every choice to serve, we can make a gift of our lives.

Imagine what God could do through hearts freely given to Him.

Our Holy Father needs our prayers. Let us answer that call together.

Following Pope Leo XIV’s lung cancer diagnosis and surgery, we hold him close in prayer as he recovers.

Prayer is powerful. It is an act of faith, hope and love bringing those who suffer before the Lord, asking boldly for healing and trusting in His mercy.

As one Church family, let us pray for the Holy Father’s healing, strength and peace, and for the medical team caring for him. We also remember all those facing cancer and the loved ones walking beside them.

Please take a moment today to pause and pray.

Young people processing with our Lord makes people stop and take notice.

At the University of Sydney, students took Jesus to their campus through a procession led by Bishop Tony Percy and Bishop Antoine-Charbel Tarabay.

Through their devotion and adoration of Christ in the Eucharist, these students were a profound public witness, pointing all to a God who is love.

A God who died for us.

A God who is with us.
