Blessed Marcel Callo was born on December 6, 1921 in Rennes (France.) For several years he was an altar boy and scout. After his studies, he began to work as a printer’s apprentice and joined YCW (Young Catholic Workers). In 1943 he was drafted for compulsory service in Germany, where he continued with YCW activities, which led to his arrest by the Gestapo in April 1944. He died in the Mauthausen concentration camp on March 19, 1945. He was beatified by Pope St. John Paul II on October 4, 1987. His feast day is celebrated on March 19.

Blessed Joao Fernandes was born in Lisbon and was one of the 73 missionaries who, in 1570, accompanied Inacio de Azevedo in his missionary dream of evangelising in Brazil. He was then 19 years old and a Jesuit novice. On July 15, shortly after their departure for Brazil (near the Canary Islands), the ship in which they were travelling was attacked by a fleet of five Huguenot pirate ships, which martyred them. Pius IX recognised the martyrdom and confirmed the devotion to Blessed Ignatius of Azevedo and his 39 companions on May 11, 1854, establishing their feast day on July 17.

Blessed Maria Clara of Child Jesus was born on June 15, 1843 in a noble family. She was orphaned at the age of 14 and in the desire of a religious life consecrated to God and the service of the poor, she entered the Capuchin Sisters in 1867. In 1870 she was sent to the novitiate in France and a year later, on her return to Portugal, she founded a new religious congregation, which would be approved by the Holy See in 1876. She died on December 1, 1899, her feast day. She was beatified on May 21, 2011.

Blessed Pier Giorgio was born in a family of the Italian gentry on April 6, 1901 in Turin. At the age of 12 he entered the Jesuit College, where he began to participate in the Apostleship of Prayer and the St. Vincent de Paul Conference. He studied Mining Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino. In 1920 he joined the Italian Popular Party. He entered the Third Order of St. Dominic in 1922. In June, 1925 he was diagnosed with fulminant poliomyelitis, which caused his death on July 4, his feast day. He was beatified on May, 20 1990.

Blessed Carlo Acutis was born on May 3, 1991. From a very early age, he showed a great aptitude for computers, a gift he used in his service to others and for the diffusion of Christian formation contents, such as the exposition of the Eucharistic miracles. In September 2006, the first symptoms of an illness appeared and, upon diagnosis, fulminant leukaemia. With complete confidence, he gave to God the little time he had left. He died on October 12, 2006 and was beatified on October 10, 2020. His feast day is celebrated on October 12.
