Old Boys of Trinity Grammar School, Sydney Alumni of Trinity Grammar School, Summer Hill

There were only 36 Year 4 students at Trinity in 1926, but in 2026 we have over 120 across both the Prep and Junior Schools.

Unlike today, with classes spread across both our Strathfield and Summer Hill campuses, all students were at Summer Hill before moving to Strathfield in 1931.

Classrooms and lessons might have looked a little different, but we're willing to bet the curiosity, playfulness, and willingness to try new things hasn't changed much for 10-year-old students in the last century.

As we continue celebrating 100 years of Trinity at Summer Hill, here’s a flashback to the School Officers of the day. Seven in total – one ‘Captain of School’ and six Prefects – the group is a little smaller than the School Officers we have today.

In 2026, we have 32 School Officers – one School Captain, three Vice Captains, 12 Prefects, and 16 House Captains.

As Trinity marks History Week 2026, we're reflecting on this year's theme, 'Keeping Stories', and the importance of preserving the stories that have shaped our community.

One hundred years ago, Trinity officially opened its doors at Summer Hill, beginning a new chapter in the School's history. From a small collection of buildings and makeshift classrooms to the thriving campus we know today, Trinity has continually evolved while remaining true to its foundations.

Congratulations to Trinity Old Boy Rohan Browning ('15), who has helped Australia claim a historic gold medal in the men's 4x100m relay at the Commonwealth Games.

Running the anchor leg, Rohan guided Australia to victory alongside teammates Lachlan Kennedy, Joshua Azzopardi and Calab Law, with the quartet winning a thrilling photo finish in 38.07 seconds. The result ended Australia's 52-year wait for Commonwealth Games gold in the event, with the nation's last title coming in 1974.

We also congratulate Ollie H***e ('15), who showed remarkable resilience throughout the Games. After being tripped and falling during his qualifying heat of the men's mile, Ollie got back to his feet and finished the race, before being reinstated to the final following a successful Australian protest. He went on to finish fifth in the final, capping off a determined campaign as he sought to defend his 2022 Commonwealth Games title.

Rohan and Ollie's performances are a source of great pride for the Trinity community, and we congratulate both Old Boys on representing Australia with distinction on the international stage.

Well done, Rohan and Ollie. Trinity is proud of you.

The final round of winter sport provided plenty to celebrate, with strong performances across football, rugby, volleyball, tennis, AFL, cross country and debating.

Among the highlights were Trinity reclaiming the Michael Spratt Cup as CAS Cross Country champions, several teams completing undefeated seasons, and a number of impressive results across the final weekend of competition.

Congratulations to all students, coaches, staff, families and supporters on a memorable winter season. We now look forward to the CAS Track & Field season and the start of summer sport later this term.

The Visual Arts Department is delighted to celebrate the success of the 2026 Trinity Year 7 Young Archies Portraiture Prize, which showcased an outstanding range of artistic talent from our Year 7 students. Demonstrating creativity, technical skill and thoughtful approaches to portraiture, students produced works of an exceptionally high standard, making the judging process a challenging one for guest judge Randall Sinnamon (Class of '87'), acclaimed Australian artist and Archibald Prize finalist.

Congratulations to Jonathan Q, whose portrait was awarded this year's prize. Jonathan's work depicts his grandfather, with an owl positioned behind him to represent the wisdom, care and guidance he sees in him. Praising the portrait, Randall remarked that it was as good as anything he saw during his time at the National Art School.

We congratulate Jonathan and all finalists on their remarkable achievements and thank every Year 7 student who participated in this year's competition. (Limited portraitures shown below.)

Another impressive weekend of competition for Trinity, with strong performances across football, rugby, tennis, volleyball, AFL, debating and cross country.

Highlights included a hard-fought win for the 1st XI Football team, a dominant round for Tennis, and outstanding national results in the pool, where Trinity students secured nine medals at the SSA Swimming and Diving National Championships.
