Congratulations to Old Boy Liam Scott (’18) on his selection to make his One Day International debut for Australia in the upcoming series against Pakistan and Bangladesh.

This milestone follows a remarkable 12 months for the 25-year-old all-rounder. Liam was named Sheffield Shield Player of the Season, playing a key role in South Australia's back-to-back titles. He also earned selection in the Big Bash League Team of the Tournament for his standout performances with the Adelaide Strikers.

Liam’s cricketing excellence was evident during his time at Trinity, where he was selected in numerous NSW and Australian Schoolboys teams. He was also part of Trinity’s CAS Premiership-winning 1st XI sides in 2017 and 2018.

Australia’s tour begins with a match against Pakistan on 30 May, with fixtures continuing through the following fortnight in June.

We wish Liam every success as he takes this exciting next step in his career.

Congratulations to Jack Debreczeni (’11) on reaching the significant milestone of 100 Super Rugby matches, achieved on the weekend in the NSW Waratahs’ match against the Highlanders in Dunedin.

Jack has enjoyed an impressive professional career, playing Super Rugby for the Rebels, Chiefs and Brumbies, alongside stints in Japan, before returning home to Sydney this year to join the Waratahs. He is currently playing alongside fellow Trinity Old Boy Tom Lambert (’18).

During his time at Trinity, Jack played three seasons in the 1st XV, captaining the team through an undefeated 2011 CAS season on the way to Trinity’s most recent CAS Rugby Premiership. In a record-breaking year for the team, Jack also topped the points tally with an outstanding 247 points for the season.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. We will remember them.

Lest we forget.

One hundred years ago today – 17 April, 1926 – Trinity officially opened its doors on the Summer Hill site where it still stands today.

The Governor General, Lord Stonehaven, opened the new Trinity Grammar School and the occasion was marked with great joy and relief after two years of makeshift classrooms and delays to get to this point.

While students today know the property inside and out, they would barely recognise it if they stepped back in time. In 1926, the entire property “consisted of the boarding school block, the Headmaster’s house, a long wooden building which doubled as a chapel, assembly hall, and several classrooms partitioned off from one another, and a fourth building used as the Intermediate room which later became the groundsman’s cottage.”

As we look towards the end of this phase of The Renewal Project, it’s remarkable to look back on 100 years of memories to see just how much the School has grown and adapted to the times.

The day is here!

Today our Swimmers and Divers compete at the CAS Championships at SOPAC.

Our Swimmers will be hoping to win the CAS Thyne Challenge Shield from the formidable Knox team who have held it since 2016. Previous to that Trinity held it for thirteen consecutive years.

Our Divers are currently on a winning streak of their own, looking for their fifth consecutive win if they can successfully defend the Steven Barnett Shield at tonight's event.

We encourage our supporters to head out and support them in the stands, or follow the event online at the following live stream link:

You can also follow our TGS Green and White Army who will be sharing content live from the event.

This week, our CAS Swimmers and Divers step onto the blocks for the 2026 CAS Swimming and Diving Championships. As we look ahead, we also look back.

Ninety years ago, the 1936 Trinity Swimming Team contributed to what the Triangle described as an exceptional period in the School’s history:

“The year past was very successful from an inter-School point of view. Trinity won the football, swimming, and debating competitions of the Associated Schools. The Council regards these successes as a happy augury for the headmaster’s term of office, and there is every indication that internal activities are proceeding to results even greater than before as the years go by. This year has opened with an increased enrolment and it is felt that even more satisfactory achievements on the sports field and in the examination room are not far away.” – Triangle, May 1936

Standing together for this photograph in 1936, those students likely carried a mix of anticipation, responsibility and quiet determination as they prepared to represent Trinity. That sense of purpose, of contributing to something larger than themselves remains familiar to today’s swimmers and divers as they take their place on the starting blocks this week.

Next week is shave week!

With shave stations being setup next week for those pledging to shave their hair, the time is closing for us to reach our goal of $110,000 as part of World's Greatest Shave in the battle to beat blood cancer.

To encourage us, a few staff members have pledged to shave or colour their hair if we can reach certain amounts. Take a look at the page for more info and pledge your donation to the Leukaemia Foundation.

https://ow.ly/LKIk50YpYN6

Help us raise funds and awareness for blood cancer, and fuel life-changing research projects and support services for patients and their families.

Any amount – big or small – will make a real, tangible difference.

A reminder to our entire community, the Trinity Grammar School Choir warmly invites you to join us for Choral Evensong on Friday, 6 March at 4:45pm in the War Memorial Chapel.

At the end of a full school week, Evensong offers something rare: a quiet space to breathe. Set in the beauty of the Chapel, this short, music‑led service invites reflection and stillness through sung psalms and scripture.

Whether you are a regular attendee or have never experienced Evensong before, this is an opportunity to step away from the pace of daily life and enjoy a moment of calm, uplifted by the voices of our Choir.

The service lasts approximately 30 minutes, an ideal way to transition from the busyness of the day into the peace of the evening.

All members of the Trinity community are warmly welcome.

Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. (Psalm 62:1-2)
