On behalf of GSMS, we would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Al Kawthar School Madarsa Springfield Branch, all the teachers and principal on Teachers' Day.

Jazakum Allahu Khairan for your unwavering dedication, patience, and commitment to teaching the Qur'an and Islamic values to our children. The work you do is truly invaluable and its impact reaches far beyond the classroom. By nurturing a love for the Qur'an in young hearts, you are helping to shape a generation that is connected to its faith, character, and community.

We recognize that this responsibility comes with many challenges and requires immense effort, sincerity, and perseverance. Please know that your hard work does not go unnoticed and is deeply appreciated by our families and community.

May Allah ﷻ abundantly reward each of you for every letter taught, every lesson delivered, and every child inspired. May He place barakah in your efforts, accept your service, and make it a source of ongoing reward for you in this life and the Hereafter.

Happy Teachers' Day and Jazakum Allahu Khairan for all that you do. We are truly grateful for your dedication and service to our children and our community.

Alhamdulillah, we had a great turnout tonight for the first lecture of our “Learning from History” series, organised by GSMS and GSWS.

Understanding our history is essential to understanding our identity, our roots and the rich legacy we have inherited.

This is a unique lecture series exploring important chapters of Islamic history that are often forgotten, overlooked or rarely taught. Knowing our past helps us better understand our present and shape our future.

A special thanks to Sister Sarish Nadeem for delivering such an insightful and engaging talk, and to everyone who attended and supported this initiative.

InshaAllah, we look forward to continuing this journey of rediscovering our history together.

Assalamu Alaikum Brothers and Sisters,

How much do we really know about our own history?

Sadly, much of our rich history has been forgotten, misunderstood or simply not passed on to future generations.

GSMS & GSWS are pleased to launch a new lecture series, Learn From Our History, taking us on a fascinating journey through the past to rediscover our intellectual and civilisational heritage and explore how Muslim scholars helped shape the modern world.

Our First Lecture: From Alexandria to the Islamic Golden Age

Discover how knowledge travelled across civilisations, from Greek to Arabic and later to Latin, and how generations of remarkable Muslim scholars, scientists and philosophers contributed to human knowledge.

Speaker: Sister Sarish Nadeem
Date: Wednesday, 21 October
Time: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM sharp
Venue: YMCA Springfield Lakes
Isha: 8:00 PM | Refreshments after Isha
