🕊️ Pentecost Sunday – Vidyarambham (Ezhuthiniruthu) 🕊️

On the blessed Feast of Pentecost, our parish joyfully celebrated Vidyarambham (Ezhuthiniruthu), the beautiful tradition of introducing children to the world of learning. Seeking the guidance and blessings of the Holy Spirit, the children wrote their very first letters, with the holy name “Jesus” being the first word they learned to write.

As we commemorated the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, we prayed that the same Spirit would fill these young minds with wisdom, understanding, and knowledge throughout their educational journey.

May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and bless all our children as they grow in faith, learning, and holiness. 🔥🕊️

Today, we joined thousands of Catholics from across the Archdiocese of Brisbane in the Corpus Christi "Walk with Jesus" Procession through the streets of Brisbane City, publicly witnessing our faith and honouring Christ truly present in the Holy Eucharist. Led by Archbishop Shane Mackinlay, the faithful gathered in prayer, praise, and devotion, proclaiming that Jesus walks with His people and remains at the centre of our lives. May the Eucharistic Lord continue to bless our families, parish, and community.

With great joy and gratitude, the St Thomas the Apostle Syro-Malabar Forane Church, Brisbane South, warmly welcomes our new Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Varghese Vithayathil MST.
We are delighted to receive Fr. Varghese into our parish family and assure him of our prayers, love, and wholehearted support as he begins his pastoral ministry among us. May the Lord bless him abundantly with wisdom, strength, good health, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in leading our community.
We also extend our sincere thanks to the parishioners from Brisbane North who accompanied Fr. Varghese and joined us for this special occasion. A special welcome and heartfelt appreciation to Rev. Fr. Sebastian Mandapathil, the new Parish Priest of Brisbane North, for his presence and support.
As we begin this new chapter together, let us unite in prayer that our parish may continue to grow in faith, love, and service under the leadership of Fr. Varghese.
