Just dispelling a lil Christian myth (dare I say…superstition) floating round that you’ll only meet your person when you stop wanting it and stop looking.

I know it might be true for some - and that’s beautiful! And God’s timing! And could be such a healthy heart posture.

You know what else could be a healthy heart posture and God’s timing? Actively looking. Putting yourself in spaces to meet someone. Praying & preparing. Keeping your hope and anticipation strong. 💪

There have been seasons over my last 12 years of singleness where God has asked me to put dating aside, and times where I’ve felt prompted to be actively open to meet someone.

So, this is my conclusion…just do what He tells you. 💖

“His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”” John 2:5

Praying for those in the waiting, especially those who have been waiting a long time. I’m not an expert on dating, but I think I might have some insight to offer into the process of living out the waiting after 12 years of it. 😆☺️

My “and suddenly” 🌹 took 12 years of waiting and praying. Not a cloud in the sky to make me think the rain I was hoping for was coming. 🌧️ I went on two dates in that entire 12 years!! (Granted, I did try to be a nun in there for a while. 🤣 And I’ve been moving around a lot with ministry. ✈️📍🌎 But the facts still remain.)

Last March 2025 I was on a plane for ministry + to attend my friend’s wedding. The seat next to me was empty and God told me to pray over it for the man who would one day sit in it. 🤲

A year later I was sitting on a plane, wearing the same denim jacket, holding the hand of a wonderful man with the cutest accent supporting me for a ministry event. I snapped the photo just for my own sweet memories and then later looked at it and was reminded of a picture from the previous year…praying over that seat. 💺

(That’s a purity ring not wedding ring fyi 💍 this is not an engagement announcement 😂)

In the joy of sharing about a new relationship after waiting so long (I think y’all are going to be excited for me too which is just so so kind 🥲), I really do just want to acknowledge though that the waiting was long before the ‘and suddenly.’ As someone who lived out the ‘I’m content single, and also believe and hope for a relationship’ tension for 10+ years - I see those still waiting. I know the cost and the times when your hope is so low you don’t even want to be prayed for or encouraged cos it’s so painful. And the well-meaning but honestly terrible things people say to you. 😅 And I want to say…my breakthrough took ages, so I hope it really does encourage you too that yours could still be coming. Even if it’s taking longer than you anticipated. Keep praying over the seat next to you 💙

This year isn’t over yet, and He’s not done yet.

I know 2026 has been so hard for some. Like hard to breathe, was hoping for a good year finally, and got handed a series of disappointments instead, kind of year. 😕

But look at what He did in just 3 days ⚰️🪨🌅 and then imagine what He can do in the next 3 whole MONTHS!! 2026 isn’t over yet, and God is still at work. 🌻 Hold in there!!
