Lately I have noticed a huge hunger in children wanting to pray for the sick and see supernatural healing in their families.

Children long for their families to be healthy and whole. We provide opportunity for prayer each week and often we pray with the children to see God invade their families with physical healing.

There have been 2 children healed of broken feet, 1 leader receive significant healing in his shoulder and a strong sense of community and faith as the children pray simple, pure, prayers filled with faith and hope.

I am discovering that children love to pray for healing and carry an expectant hope that God will supernaturally answer their prayers 😍🥰

Can children receive the baptism of the Spirit with the sign of tongues?

Absolutely!

For a long time I was afraid to teach children the baptism of the Spirit. On reflection my reluctance was due to a fear of failure. I mean what if I teach it and nothing happens?

Now I realize that if nothing happens thats ok.

My responsibility is to teach it with clarity, give an opportunity for children to respond, and the rest is up to God- its not about me anyway.

I will never forget the first child I personally saw speak in tongues. Id prayed "Lord just baptize one child in the Spirit!" And that night one child spoke in tongues. Praise the Lord!

But its the fruit I saw in him in the months following that was so encouraging. He was on fire for God and started seeing prophetic visions from the Holy Spirit.

Later he started prophesying clearly to his friends! It was beautiful to see.

Thats why we teach the baptism of the Spirit to children- for the fruit God develops in their spiritual life.

Following that one child receiving the baptism, we had approximately 20 more in the months following 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️.

Sometimes we need to put our egos aside so that God can raise up children fully devoted to him!

Creating Room for God Encounters

Leading children into personal encounters with God doesn't have to be difficult. One key is to make room for it in our kids services and a second is 'instruction.'

Making room: We can make room for encounters by regularly scheduling them into our runsheets. Key moments for God encounters can be praise & worship, altar calls following teaching, activations, and soaking times. One or more of these moments can be scheduled into our weekly services.

A simple instruction might be, "kids we are now entering a time of worship. God wants to meet with us and he meets with us when we close our eyes and focus on him. When we draw near to him he promises to come close to us".

Scheduling altar calls for kids to respond to teaching, activations for children to practice spiritual gifts, and soaking times where children lie down, relax, ask God a question, and focus on him while relaxing music plays in the background, all give room and opportunity for God to speak powerfully and meet with kids personally.

These times can be life-changing for children as they create impactful and personal memories with God. As kids leaders, parents, or grandparents we have the privilege of creating room for God to meet with our children!
