For most of my life, I would easily get offended when people did me wrong. But over the last couple of years, especially after I got shot, something changed in me, although I only realised it recently.

Today at church, another guy shared his testimony, and it made me think about this again. I have always been a Christian, but after everything that happened, my faith became more real as I started focusing on Christ and letting Scripture guide my decisions.

My perspective began to shift, and I found a peace I did not have before. The things of this world do not shake me as easily anymore, because Jesus has made my burdens lighter. I still go through trials, but I carry them differently now, because I am learning to lay them down before Him.

I know a lot of us suffer from anxiety, worrying about the future, or maybe depression, struggling to let go of the past.

I can’t tell you exactly how to unwind yourself from your situation, but what I can do is share what worked for me.

This applies to every part of life, when you are worried about your finances, carrying pain in your relationships, facing health concerns, making difficult decisions, dealing with fear, feeling overwhelmed, searching for peace, or trying to understand your purpose.

Matthew 6:33 says to seek God first. You do not have a better foundation to stand on than Christ.

You do not have to be inside a church building to find God, but it is good for your soul to be in fellowship with the Lord and with other believers.

He is here, now.

Grab onto Him and change your mindset from focusing on yourself as broken, to focusing on Him, who is complete. Remember, we are made in His image, and through Christ, God makes us whole again.

Once you start walking with God, stop chasing your own purpose, and begin to seek what God has planned for you, you will be amazed.

But it starts with faith.

So, seek God first.
