Happy Father's Day!

Fathers Day Prayer

God our Father, We give you thanks and praise for fathers young and old.

We pray for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation; May they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice.

We pray for our own Fathers around the world whose children are lost or suffering; May they know that the God of compassion walks with them in their sorrow.

We pray for men who are not fathers but still mentor and guide us with fatherly love and advice.

We remember fathers, grandfathers, and great grandfathers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love.

Thank you to our community members that have reached out with extraordinary care, concern and compassion for Father Bryan; and for all those who have offered their prayers for Father's health and wellbeing.

Fr Bryan's surgery was successful and his care team are really happy with how the surgery went. Please keep Father in your prayers as he now begins his recovery and rehabilitation.

Important info:
• 8.30am Mass, Sunday 16th August - Will be Celebrated. We are thankful for Fr Graham Gatehouse who is able to celebrate our Sunday morning Mass for us this week.

• We are unable to celebrate 9am Friday 14th, 9am Saturday 15th (The Assumption), 4pm Saturday 15th and 5.30pm Sunday 16th August Masses.

• JP&E Group - are heading to St Josephs' Bracken Ridge for The Assumption Mass at 9am Saturday 15th August, they will then have their SOOT demonstration at the Bracken Ridge Library.

• Our Confirmation Masses scheduled for the 16th and 23rd August have been postponed to October, proposed dates will be confirmed as soon as we are able.

We are sorry to advise that Fr Bryan was involved in an accident this morning and has suffered a broken femur. He is receiving the very best care and is in good spirits despite being in pain. Father will undergo surgery this evening. Please keep him in your prayers.

To allow Fr Bryan time to rest and recover, please direct any calls or emails for him to the Parish Office over the coming days.

Unfortunately, we are unable to celebrate the following Masses:

9am Friday 14 August
9am Saturday 15 August – Mass of the Assumption
4pm Saturday 15 August
5.30pm Sunday 16 August

We are doing our best to find a priest to celebrate the 8.30am Mass on Sunday 16 August and will keep you updated.

For those wishing to attend Mass for the Assumption, nearby parishes at Our Lady of the Way, Petrie, and Holy Cross, Redcliffe, will celebrate Mass at 9am on Saturday 15th August.

Thank you for your understanding and, most importantly, for your prayers for Fr Bryan at this time.

All-loving God, we give you thanks and praise for mothers young and old.

We pray for new mothers, who give life and tend to our every need... May they be blessed with patience and tenderness to care for their families and themselves with great joy.

We pray for our own mothers who have nurtured and cared for us... May they continue to guide us in strong and gentle ways.

We remember mothers who are separated from their children because of war, poverty, or conflict... May they feel the loving embrace of our God who wipes away every tear.

We pray for women who are not mothers but still love and shape us with motherly care and compassion.

We remember mothers. grandmothers, and great-grandmothers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love.

Amen.
