Today’s devotion

FAITH DEMONSTRATED THROUGH OBEDIENCE

~ Genesis 22; Hebrews 11:17–19

Abraham demonstrated his faith through obedience when GOD tested him. He was willing to obey the LORD even when the instruction concerned Isaac, the son through whom GOD had promised to fulfil His purpose.
Faith is not only something we profess with our mouths. Abraham's obedience demonstrated his trust in GOD. His example shows the connection between believing the LORD and acting upon His Word.
A faith that trusts GOD must also be willing to obey Him.

OBEDIENCE — A CHARACTER OF THE RAPTURED CHURCH

~ Revelation 3:10

Obedience to the LORD is a defining character of the church that will be taken into glory. Jesus speaks of those who have kept His command, and He promises to keep them from the hour of trial that is coming upon the world.
Calling Jesus LORD is not enough if we refuse to obey His Word. The LORD requires a church that listens to His instruction and lives in obedience to Him. As we prepare for the coming of the Messiah, obedience to the LORD must be evident in our lives.

The Lord has visited nations with visible signs. "The rain of Mount Carmel has come 29 times." Testimonies of the cloud of God visiting — before and after — stand as evidence of His active hand among the nations. "Hear and act. Do not delay.
