If you want to support our First Love ring of fire prayer chain for Oceania, today we are praying for Kiribati (pronounced kitibass). although they have Australian currency, the islands of Kiribati are the most remote and endangered and forgotten on earth . Remarkably missionaries reached the islands in the 19th century and there was communal conversion . Today Christianity is the stable and dominant religion. Bible teacher and Living Proof Ministries founder Beth Moore says moving away from the Southern Baptist world she had known for decades left her feeling rejected, isolated and uncertain about where she belonged.

In an interview with Christian artist Lecrae, Moore said her views began to change when she concluded that some church teachings about submission were being used to keep women out of leadership and to protect authority even when women and children were being harmed.

She said the backlash was devastating. “I lost my sense of belonging,” Moore recalled, describing the separation as a painful period when she felt as though she were falling with nowhere to land.

But the loss also forced Moore to reconsider where her deepest identity should be rooted. “I’m going to identify myself as a Jesus follower,” she said. “We stand with Christ. We stand at the cross, and that is it.”

Moore said she still values parts of her Baptist heritage, but no denomination or political system will define her ultimate loyalty. “There is no other way,” she said of Jesus Christ. “That is where my loyalty lies.”
