You may recall what Fr Nam, Dean of the Cathedral, said at the end of the Assembly: “Who is going to do these plans?”

The answer is all of us.

This is a call and an invitation for all members of our parish community to take part in this process as we seek to put these priorities into action.

These plans are not simply the work of the Parish Council or a small group. They belong to the whole parish community.

Each of us has something to offer. Whether through our time, our gifts, our ideas, our prayer or simply our willingness to get involved.

Please come to the meeting as we walk together and turn these priorities into action.

Would your child like to serve Jesus and our parish community at Mass?

We are inviting boys and girls who have received their First Holy Communion to express their interest in becoming an Altar Server.

✨ As an Altar Server, your child will:
• Assist the priest and Bishop during Mass
• Learn more about the Mass and liturgy
• Grow in faith, prayer and reverence
• Serve as part of a team
• Develop confidence, responsibility and leadership
• Be rostered approximately once a month

🙏 Training will be provided.

Altar serving is a wonderful opportunity for children to grow closer to Jesus, deepen their faith and make a valuable contribution to the life of our parish.

Father’s Day Appeal this Weekend

As you leave Mass this weekend, a special collection will be taken up for the annual Father’s Day Appeal, which supports the care and welfare of our retired and sick priests.

The Father’s Day Appeal is a tangible expression of our gratitude to the priests who have dedicated their lives to serving our parish communities, celebrating the sacraments, and walking with us in faith. Through this collection, our Catholic community assists the diocese in providing essential healthcare, comfortable accommodation, and ongoing support for those who have tirelessly cared for the flock over many decades.

As we observe this World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, we are once again invited to contemplate the gift of life and to cherish the earth that sustains it, for they are tangible ways of offering praise to our Creator.

Australia’s First Diocesan Tree Protection Plan to be Launched by Diocese

The Catholic Diocese of Bathurst will be launching a comprehensive Tree Protection Plan on the World Day of Prayer for Creation, 1st September 2026.

This plan, to be launched by the Bishop of Bathurst, Michael McKenna, ensures that all trees on land in the care of the Diocese such as parishes, schools, presbyteries and cemeteries, cannot be unnecessarily removed or inappropriately pruned, ensuring a long life into the future.

The Relics of St Carlo Acutis and the Exhibition of Eucharistic Miracles came to our Cathedral Parish on Friday evening.

If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to visit and pray before the relics of St Carlo Acutis and explore the exhibition of Eucharistic Miracles, tomorrow is the last day.

The relics and the exhibition will be in the Cathedral tomorrow from 9.00 am to 2.30 pm.

We warmly invite everyone to take this opportunity to come, pray, and learn more about the life and faith of St Carlo Acutis, especially his deep love for Jesus in the Eucharist.
