Bella Musica Mozarteum: Music as Europe’s Language of Peace

Bella Musica Mozarteum has concluded its acclaimed 2026 Italian tour. A special highlight was the ensemble’s appearance at the Vatican, where the young musicians accompanied the entrance of Pope Leo XIV with Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik before an audience of around 15,000 people.

With Mozart’s childhood violin and his Dalla Costa concert violin, the ensemble brought the composer’s musical legacy to life at historic locations across Italy, building bridges through culture, exchange and shared European values.

Young European Music Festival 2026 of the European Youth Orchestra Academy

Europe sounds better together!
From 9 to 12 September, 76 young musicians from 17 European nations will come together in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region.

Within just a few days, four international ensembles will be formed, creating a diverse musical programme: symphony orchestra, big band, jazz and chamber music (string quartet and wind quintet) come together to showcase the diversity and vitality of Europe’s young music scene.

Six concerts at five venues
Mannheim · Ludwigshafen · Heidelberg · Schwetzingen · Worms

The festival is all about encounter, exchange and the unifying power of music. Young talents learn from one another, make music together and find a common language – without borders.

Bella Musica 2026 – Mozart’s Gardens as Living Soundscapes

From 28 August to 10 September 2026, the Bella Musica Mozarteum 2026 ensemble, under the direction of Stefan David Hummel, will embark on a unique musical journey along the European Mozart Ways.

Under the theme “L’Amenità del loco? – Exploring Mozart’s Gardens”, the tour explores the connection between nature, artistic inspiration, and Mozart’s enduring musical legacy.

A special highlight is the presentation of original historical instruments from the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation collection, performed in selected concerts in collaboration with the Foundation. These include a 1764 violin by Pietro Antonio Dalla Costa and a c. 1746 child’s violin by Andreas Ferdinand Mayr. Talented young soloists from the ensemble will also present diverse Mozart programmes, offering fresh perspectives on the composer’s sound world.

Music & Musics – discover the 2026/27 Concert Season at the International Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg.

Inspired by the theme of Mozart Week 2027 – Mozart & "Mozarts", the new season celebrates the connections between composers, the enduring power of music, and the exciting ways today's artists explore classical music and beyond.

🎭 Season highlights include:
• The open-air opera Apollo et Hyacinthus in the enchanting Baroque Hedge Theatre of the Mirabell Gardens
• Mozart's Requiem performed by the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg under Trevor Pinnock
• Master concerts with Christiane Karg, Gautier Capuçon, Gabriela Montero, Nemanja Radulović and the Janoska Ensemble

The programme also features inspiring chamber music, exceptional young prizewinners, and the I am from Salzburg series, showcasing artists with close ties to the city. The season opens, as tradition has it, with the vibrant LatinoMozart concert.

Mozart takes centre stage at the Salzburg Festival 2026.
From 17 July to 30 August 2026, the Salzburg Festival once again celebrates the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with an outstanding programme of opera, orchestral concerts and sacred music.

🎭 Experience a new production of Così fan tutte, conducted by Joana Mallwitz, at the Großes Festspielhaus.

🎶 Enjoy the beloved Mozart Matinees with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, led by Petr Popelka, Giovanni Antonini, Roberto González-Monjas and Andrea Marcon, featuring symphonies, divertimenti and other masterpieces by Mozart.

⛪ As part of the Festival's traditional church concerts, Mozart's Mass in C minor (K. 427) will be performed in the Collegiate Church of St. Peter by the Camerata Salzburg and the Balthasar Neumann Choir, conducted by Thomas Hengelbrock.
