The Vicar-General of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, Bishop Stephen Diseko of Matlosane, speaks out against threats and animosity against migrants in South Africa. "While we believe that our immigration laws should be enforced, they should be implemented by the proper authorities and not vigilantes," he says. Bishop Diseko is acting in the place of Archbishop Thabo Makgoba, who is on sabbatical in the Netherlands.

The Vicar-General, Bishop Stephen Diseko of the Diocese of Matlosane, is speaking out against threats and animosity against migrants in South Africa.

Today at our 9:30am service, Venerable Richard Dunsdon blessed our Class of 2026 as they are writing their mid-year exams.
They received a special blessing together with their parents and guardians.
Each matriculant received a bookmarker and a chocolate.
We wish all the Matriculants well for the remaining papers of their mid-year exams.

Today's focus was on Child Protection.
Our guest speaker was Mrs Imelda April-Jacobs who works for the Department of Social Development. Imelda reminded us about the responsibilities we have as adults and shared the following to support our children:
1. Sense of belonging- encouraging our children to partake in services.
2. Mastery - Help children to discover their gifts
3. Independence - Children's voices matter and we as adults need to listen to them.
4. Generosity - We as adults need to demonstrate generosity so that children can learn from us.
