Where does your inheritance lay?
Today's Sunday Message:
Galatians 4:4-7 & John 3:16
Verse 5:
'And because we are HIS CHILDREN, God has sent the SPIRIT OF HIS SON into our hearts'
Verse 7:
'Now, you are no longer a slave but his own child. And since you are his, God has made you HIS HEIR'
Are you an heir of the kingdom of God? The answer is YES. God's love to the world is key to understanding this. John 3:16 says: 'For God so loved the world that He gave his ONLY begotten son'. But what is a begotten son?
It is a son who was given to the world, through the Holy spirit. To 'beget', means to receive something with great effort. This effort that Mary had to experience to receive Jesus, was an effort that exceeds the laws of nature: conception via the Holy Spirit.
Are you still on board, take a minute to let that sink in. This is deep 🤗... Now let's keep going: The next question then becomes, how are we God's children if He had only one, Jesus Christ, which he gave up for us?
The answer lies then, in asking this question: How does one obtain an inheritance? We know that when loved ones pass on, we can claim inheritance. And in order to claim, you need to be related. In other words, to become relatives(children of God) we need to accept Christ into our hearts 🙂. And we can do this only through his Holy Spirit entering our hearts.
But Christ was here in his physical form, remember? Therefore, Jesus needed to leave earth in his physical form to reach more of us through his Spirit. He had to go (in other words die) so that his Holy Spirit could be limitless, and entering thousands' hearts. That is why each one of us are his children.
If we accept Christ into our hearts, we become brothers and sisters and are all heirs of God's kingdom. Our Savior died not only for our sins, but so that we are promised an eternal inheritance. One that exceeds anything here on earth.
Let's be encouraged to chase our eternal inheritance fam
Its rich in promises
