𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝟭 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

On Monday, 17 August 2026, Rector Alwyn Williams hosted an inspiring meeting with the 2026 Confirmands, the Confirmation 1 class, and their parents at the Johnson Park congregation.

​The central theme of the meeting was the solemn Confirmation Vow and its lifelong impact. Rector Williams encouraged the two grouos to actively engage in church activities while staying true to their unique identity, reassuring them that the Ministers and congregation stand ready to guide and support them.

​The Confirmation 1 learners gained valuable insight into what lies ahead as they prepare to enter their final year of Confirmation in 2027.

Parents of both groups were urged to remain steadfast partners in motivating their children through these crucial final stages of their religious education.

​Priests Fielies and Kannemeyer offered uplifting words, adopting the popular Young People hashtag to inspire attendance and heart-felt commitment.
In a powerful moment of unity, the parents joined the learners in reciting the Confirmation Vow together.

​Priest Du Plessis concluded the evening with prayer.

𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀

District Rector Colin Andrews visited the congregration of Johnson Park on Sunday 16 August 2026.

The organ and choir fostered a reverent atmosphere prior to the commencement of the divine service.

The divine service was based on the Bible text John 17:20-21(excerpt).

Priest Priscilla Neethling was called to serve along.

𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲
God grants us oneness, and we do everything in our power to preserve it.

𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆
■ Jesus not only prays to the Father for the disciples of that time, but also for all those who will come to believe through their word

■ The objective of Jesus' prayer is the unity of all believers. This unity is founded upon Him and is meant to be an identifying feature of one church in Christ

■ Oneness is a gift of God and a mission for humankind

The choir concluded the divine with a majestic rendition of Choir Hymn Collection 40, 'We shall remain united' after which the District Rector proceeded to greet the members and warmly interacted with them.

𝗔𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆

The Rector of Roodewal congregation, Community Evangelist Danowen Joseph, conducted the Sunday divine servuce in Johnson Park congregation on Sunday 9 August 2026.

Under the theme, Apostolicity, the Bible text from 2 Corinthians 5:20, served as the basis for the divine service.

Priest Micheal Kannemeyer was called to serve along.

𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲:
Apostolicity is an identifying characteristic of the church of Christ.

𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆:

■ Jesus Christ sent out Apostles in order to authentically proclaim salvation in Jesus Christ.
■ The church retained its apostolicity even after the death of the early Apostles because the apostolic doctrine continued to be preached.
■ Apostolicity was fully restored with the renewed personal occupation of the Apostle ministry.

After the conclusion of the divine service the Rector greeted the members and engaged in warm fellowship with them.

𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀

On Sunday 26 July 2026, Rector Priest Alwyn Williams conducted the Sunday divine service in Johnson Park congregation.

The divine serbice was based on Matthew 6:12,
"And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors."

𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲:
Those who reflect on God's forgiveness discover within themselves a willingness to forgive.

𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆:
■ Let us pass on the forgiveness we receive from God in our daily lives
■ A negative example is the unforgiving servant who himself received forgiveness, but did not grant it to others
■ It can be difficult and painful to forgive, but we can ask God to give us the strength we need to do so

With week upon us the Young People of the congregation continued with the Young People Serviving Christ initiative, by serving as doorkeepers joyfully welcoming members to church, presented Sunday School lessons and help with other tasks in the congregation. Their expression of joy in doing these tasks brought joy to the hearts of many.

The Sunday divine service at Johnson Park congregation was conducted by the Rector, Priest Alwyn Williams.
The divine service was based on the Bible text from Matthew 6:11 'Give us this day our daily bread' emphasizing our trust in God's daily care.

Priest Mervin Du Plessis was called upon to assist.

𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲:

■ We can overcome our fears about the future by placing our trust in God.
■ We share in the responsibility for those who lack bread.

After the celebration of Holy Communion, the Rector proceeded with the assignment of Brother Juwayne Bradley Mowers as the new Young People Leader for the congregation. His new task includes helping the Young People deepen their faith, to inspire them to engage their gifts and abilities both in the church and in society, as well as to create and maintain a vibrant Young People body that will help the congregation grow.

The 40th Wedding Anniversary blessing for Brother Slabbert and Sister Alma van Heerden could for medical reasons not be bestowed on the couple in church. However, the Rector accompanied by Priests, proceeded to the couple's home to bestow the blessing on them.
Their joy and thankfulness was evident throughout the few moments shared with them.
