BIBLE STUDY GROUP QUESTIONS
THE FOUNTAIN GATE, FILL, FLOURISH, FLOW.
NEHEMIAH 3:15
JOHN 7:37-39.

Hi everyone.

Here are some questions for discussion or personal study and reflection based on our theme this week as we explore the rebuilding of the gates of Jerusalem.

1) What is the significance of the well in the Bible? Genesis 24: 1-26 (Rebekah) and Genesis 29:9-12 (Rachel), John 4:4-26 ( Woman at the Well.) How do the bride and marriage relate to this?

2) What significance is there in the proximity of this gate to the Pool of Siloam and the King's Garden?

3) Which miracle happened at this Pool of Siloam, and what spiritual significance does this hold( John 9:1-11). How is the miracle related to the Fountain gate?( Psalm 36:9)

4) What does the Fountain Gate offer that the world can not? (John 7:38)

5) Why do we have to pass through the Valley Gate and Dung Gate before we reach the Fountain gate?

6) What are the things we can try to fill our lives with that will not quench our thirst?
Why is marriage an important symbol in considering this. What do we need to do to find fullness, to flourish, and to then overflow? ( Matthew 12:34; John 3:30; John 4:10; John 4:14; 1 Corinthians 15:31; Galatians 2:20, ).

Good day, friends. Here are a few questions to ponder upon as we reflect on this past Sunday’s sermon, “Time to Clean”. The Dung Gate

Nehemiah 3:13-14 (NLT)

1 Why do you think this gate was so important? What spiritual significance do you draw from the symbolism of this gate?

2 What does it mean in Romans 8:1 when it says: “there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus”? What hope does this passage hold for us?

3 When someone becomes a Christian, they discover a new love for God. There is also a need for them to discover a new dislike for sin. Why is this important and how does it help with spiritual growth?

4. What do you think is required for someone to be set free from the bo***ges of this world? What do you understand by spiritual bo***ge and how does God deliver us?

5. Often our struggles leave us feeling distant from God. How does God view our weakness and what should we hold onto as we wrestle with unworthiness?

6. When God sets us free from sin, what does He replace the sin with?

Good day, friends. Here are a few questions to ponder upon as we reflect on this past Sunday’s sermon, “The good old days”. The Old Gate

Genesis 8:1-4, 22-22 (NLT)

1 What encouragement do you find in the title, “Ancient of Days”, that is used to describe God?

2 Why is the faithfulness of God so important for us and how does God’s faithfulness differ from what human faithfulness and loyalty is based upon?

3 In Philippians 1:6, Paul encouraged the church that God would complete the work that He had begun in them. Why is this encouraging and what hope does it hold for us?

4. Noah trusted God to seal him in the ark. How does our faith in God and God’s faithfulness work together? Does God’s faithfulness require human faith?

5. God promised Noah that He would never destroy the earth again. Why do you think this covenant was important and do you think the flood was necessary?

6. What does God’s rainbow mean to you? Is it still relevant for Christians, today?
