Sermon Highlights: Mom Msimango

The Importance of Gatherings

- In every gathering you attend, never miss the gathering where God is involved.
-Don’t prioritize gatherings that don’t have God, or gatherings that will kill your self-esteem.
- Be careful of gatherings that will affect your heart.
-Avoid gatherings where you know God won’t speak.
- Go where the Word of God is, because once the Word has been delivered, God attends to those people.

Scripture Reference:Acts 2:4 “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them”

Receive Jesus Christ as Your Lord and Savior

-Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and turn away from sin.
-People are trapped in deep sin because of the devil, and the devil makes them stick to sin.
-If you are in Christ, you will face a fight.
- Resist the devil. Don’t allow him to rule your life.

Word of God

Daniel 3:24-26

-A person who hurt you may never come back, but God will send someone who will heal you.
-Someone is holding your ticket to breakthrough, but you are still holding back.
-These young men were thrown into the fire. The soldiers died, but the boys said, “Still, we shall not bow.”
-Before Nebuchadnezzar saw the fourth Man, he noticed that the men who were thrown in tied, were walking around loose in the fire.
-The fire was blazing, yet the three men were walking inside it unharmed.
-The devil may have stolen some people’s husbands, but he failed, because there is God on our side.
-We serve a God who is bigger than pain.
-We serve a God who is bigger than any situation.
- Some situations are just a signal that you are moving, that you are free.
- Young people, move toward your destiny!

John 5:1-8 (focusing on verse 7)

-At the Pool of Bethesda, people believed that whoever got in first after the angel stirred the water would be healed.
- The Pool of Bethesda was their pool of hope.
-For us today, the church is the pool of hope, the pool of answers, and the pool of healing.
-Many people with sicknesses were there, but only one was healed when the angel came.
-Jesus commanded the man, “Rise, take up your mat and go.”
-Today Jesus is saying to us: Take up your pain and move toward your destiny.
-Take your pain with you and move on, because that pain will remind you of the goodness of the Lord.
-Young people, move forward!
-The healing is here today!
- Jesus says,“Come to Me, all you who are weary” — Matthew 11:28, he is promising that will be the spiritual relief and comfort for all those who are exhausted from the daily struggles.
- You need to let go of pain and suffering because the one who hurt you will never come and apologize.
-They are a bad person and will never come back. God will send someone your way to come and heal you.
-You cannot expect good from a bad person.
-You cannot put your ticket to your breakthrough in someone else’s hands.

JUNE 16 YOUTH COMMEMORATION AND CAREER EXPO 2026 🎓

Purpose of the Day – June 16 Youth Commemoration

-Celebrating Achievement, Inspiring Possibility, and Honouring the Legacy of Youth.
-We celebrate graduates for their resilience, dedication, and faith, while inspiring youth still pursuing their goals. Graduation shows that consistent effort plus faith produces results. It’s not for comparison, but proof that achievement is attainable.

-Our graduates wore their academic regalia to commemorate the youth of 1976 - honouring their courage and sacrifice by stepping forward in excellence themselves.
-We also remember the June 16 youth who dared to dream beyond limits. Their courage calls our generation to pursue excellence, break barriers, and build a future worthy of those before us.

Purpose of the commemoration.

1. Celebrate and honour graduates for their achievements.
2. Encourage those still pursuing educational/personal goals.
3. Reaffirm perseverance, discipline, and faith in pursuing success.
4. Commemorate the legacy and sacrifices of the June 16 youth.
5. Inspire every young person: with God, determination, and hard work, no dream is beyond reach.

CAREER EXPO 2026 HIGHLIGHTS

Purpose: To equip youth with knowledge on career pathways, higher education, entrepreneurship, and professional development. Show that education and faith go hand in hand.

The session started by breaking the myth that faith and education conflict. Using biblical examples, it was emphasized that God values skill, knowledge, and wisdom. _Proverbs 9:10_ was highlighted: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Youth were encouraged that their future depends on trusting God + diligence, not background.

Session Highlights – Speaker Topics

1. Entrepreneurship & Multiple Income Streams: Youth were urged to start using their talents now instead of waiting for perfect qualifications. The importance of developing diverse skills and not limiting yourself to one income source was stressed.

2. Purpose-Driven Careers: The value of choosing careers based on passion and fulfilment over money alone was shared, using healthcare/nursing as an example of service-oriented work.

3. Technical & Business Careers: Exposure was given to technical trades like electrical/engineering and family business operations. Youth learned about alternative career paths outside traditional professions.

4. Education, Knowledge & Career Planning: Lifelong learning was emphasized as key to advancement. Practical info was given on SETAs, bursaries, internships, learnerships, and apprenticeships, plus the difference between them. Youth were advised to choose subjects wisely, research careers early, understand requirements, and let passion/aptitude guide decisions over external pressure.

5. Career Readiness & Employability: Practical skills were shared on CV writing, interview preparation, profession etiquette, workplace do's and dont's and workplace professionalism to help youth present themselves confidently.

The Career Expo 2026 empowered youth with knowledge, inspiration, and practical tools. The message was clear: success comes through faith, wisdom, continuous learning, hard work, and informed decisions, while trusting God to guide the future.

Welcome to our Sunday Service!

This morning we come with hearts open, ready to worship Jesus.

From John 8:10-11, we’re reminded of how Christ treated the woman caught in sin:

- Our task is to act as disciples and tell people about Jesus, not to go out and rebuke them about their sin.
- Even those who have sinned are worthy of Jesus’ forgiveness.
- Jesus urges us to leave the life of sin and walk in freedom.
- The love that Christ showed the woman is the same love we should show everyone we meet.

No matter what you’ve walked through this week, you’re welcome here. The Lord is not here to condemn you, He’s here to forgive you and give you a new start.

Settle in, worship with us, and let His love meet you right where you are.

📢 SUNDAY GOWN REMINDER - GRADUATION SUNDAY

Holy City Family, blessings!

This Sunday we’re celebrating education + achievement as a church family 🎓✨

Dress code:
1. Graduates: Please wear your gowns/caps with pride. Let’s honor what God helped you accomplish!
2. Non-graduates + those without gowns: Please wear all black. Let’s stand in unity and support one another.
Why it matters:
As Holy City, we believe education is important. God is the foundation and center of the education of every believer. _“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.”_ — Proverbs 1:7

When we dress in unity, we show our young people that learning, growth, and excellence matter to God and to His church. Let’s encourage them to dream big, study hard, and put God first in everything.

Come celebrate, come encourage, come in unity! See you Sunday 💙

Teaching about finance by Sister Ntokozo

Purpose of finances according to the bible

1. To provide for your household.
1 Timothy 5:8
Anyone who does not provide for their relatives and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

2. Giving/offering
- Advancing God’s work
- Honor the Lord with your wealth
- Fund missionary work
- Supporting the congregation.

3. Contentment and trust
Imali impande yesono
- Money serves as a test of your heart and character.
- Learning to handle money wisely without loving it too much.
- This proves that you love God more than materialistic things.

Core biblical financial Principles
How to handle finances biblically

1. Understanding that everything belongs to God
- God provides the ability to produce wealth
- You are a manager of his resources
- accountable for how you spend, save, share your money.

2. Practice giving
- Let us give cheerfully and return a portion to the Lord.

3. Save and invest wisely
Proverbs 21:20
The wise store up choice food and olive oil but fools gulp theirs down.

4. Plan and budget
- Suppose you want to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?
- Let us plan for everything we want to buy.

Amen 🙏

Sermon highlights: Pastor S.G Msimango

Theme: Soul Winning
Soul winning is to bring people to know God.

John 4:4-29

- As long as we look at people based on their conditions, soul winning will be far from us.
- You have to look beyond people’s conditions and see their souls if you want them saved.
- Don’t judge people by their conditions, because that pushes them further from God. Bring them closer by refusing to condemn them.
- God wants everyone to be saved-even the ones you’re rejecting.
- We must let Jesus do His job. It is not our duty to reject people.
- Don’t be pressured into living a lifestyle you cannot afford. You will pay the price (with your soul).
- Those who worship God must worship Him in spirit and truth.
- God is the source of life.
- God did not focus on the woman’s circumstances; instead, He looked at her soul.
- Jesus asked the Samaritan woman if she had a husband. When she said she didn’t, He agreed-because He knew her truth.
- There was a spiritual transaction between the woman and God: she accepted Christ.
- The woman’s spirit was renewed, and she immediately invited everyone to come into a relationship with God.

Soul retention:
Soul retention is to keep those who have come to God.
- Soul retention is important.
- Do not hurt people in the house of the Lord.
- Don’t take anyone for granted, because Jesus died for us all.
- In the process of winning souls, let us not lose souls.
- Those who get hurt and lost in the house of the Lord should be found.
- Someone who denies the faith may not be found, because many times when we go to fetch that soul, we get left behind.
- You win souls by welcoming them with open arms in the house of God.
