BAY Church = “Building a Year Church”.
We felt, if God could give us a building in a year surely we could help others and trust God to build a building for them. And so over the years, we’ve had the privilege of helping build many buildings in a years. That’s where we can work together. You see, part of the dream is “how do we finance it?”
We had a fifty cent bottle. Some of you will remember that we collected fifty cent pieces, filled up a two litre bottle, which was exactly one thousand rand until we well, we hated fifty cent coins. We just couldn’t handle them anymore.
So what we’re doing now is we call it a thousand rand bottle. Now we need like 250 thousand rand bottles.
But actually that’s a bottle with a thousand rand. You can put ten rand notes, twenty, fifty, one hundred. And in six months, I believe many of us as individuals, as families, as businesses, as connect groups as well, pretty much anyone could get a bottle. You get a special sticker, you cross off one brick at a time, ten rand per brick until you’ve crossed off one hundred bricks, which equals a thousand rand.
Just imagine what we could do. We could very soon be building not just one, but multiple buildings a year. So why not get involved? Why not get yourself a sticker, get yourself a two litre bottle, fill it up with a thousand rand. And hey, how many churches a year could we be building? Let’s do it together.
