God knew Elijah was His own, so He carried him from the Brook that dried up to the Widow that had Overflow!

When the brook dried up, God did not leave His servant. He had already commanded a widow to sustain him.

THE WIDOW CHURCH 📖 1 Kings 17:8-16
This is a church that has little. It is also affected by the famine, hunger and poverty. BUT it has EARS to hear the voice of God and a HEART to obey God despite suffering, challenges, problems and poverty!

THE BROOK CHURCH 📖 1 Kings 17:1-7
This church saw supernatural provision. Ravens brought food morning and evening for Elijah. BUT this church has no ears to hear God and no heart to obey when God !

God did not send overflow to the brook. He sent overflow to the widow who obeyed!

In a time of severe famine, God did something strange. He sent His prophet Elijah to a poor widow in Zarephath. That story is a prophetic picture of what God wants to do in your life today!

YOU FORGET THE LORD YOUR GOD WHEN YOU WORSHIP OTHER GODS!

📖 Deuteronomy 8:19 - "If you ever forget the LORD your God and follow other gods... you will surely be destroyed."_

What a Word we received today!

APOSTLE JOSSY JOSEPH reminded us: An idol is not just a statue.
✍🏾 Your idol is anything that controls your decisions, your time, your money, and your joy.*

If it controls you more than God, it is your god!

🔻 MODERN IDOLS IN THE HEART🔻

🔹1. CAREER / BUSINESS
When work makes you miss prayer, church, and your family. God gave you the job, don't let the job take you from God.

🔹2. PEOPLE
When you honor a man, woman, pastor, partner, or child more than you honor God. When their opinion matters more than God's Word.

🔹3. SELF
Phone, beauty, money, fame, social media, selfies. When you live for likes and not for Christ.

Today God is calling us back! Destroy the idols and return to the LORD!

🔻 DO NOT FORGET THE LORD YOUR GOD...
📖 Deuteronomy 8:10-20

🔻REMAIN FAITHFUL* 3
⤵️ Moses' greatest fear was not that Israel would be defeated by giants in Canaan, but that they would forget God IN Canaan.
⤵️ To forget God is not mental, it is spiritual. You forget Him when you stop LOVING Him, FEARING Him, and OBEYING Him.

⤵️ You forget the LORD YOUR GOD when you worship other gods or idols.

📖 Deuteronomy 7:3-4 - "Do not intermarry with them... for they will turn your children away from following me to serve other gods."

God had warned the Israelites not to intermarry or make covenants with the Canaanites.

But they did, and it happened in 3 ways:

⤵️ 3 WAYS THE ISRAELITES WORSHIPPED OTHER GODS

🔹 1. Through Marriage...
When Israelite men married Canaanite women, their wives brought their gods — Baal, Ashtoreth, and Asherah — into the home. The family would then keep idols and worship them together. King Solomon is the biggest example — his many foreign wives turned his heart to other gods.

🔹 2. Through Friendship and Business...
By living, trading, farming, and making treaties with Canaanites, they started to join their festivals, feasts, and celebrations of their gods. To be accepted, they would bow, eat food sacrificed to idols, and participate in their rituals.

🔹 3. Through Cultural Pressure...
They wanted to be like the other nations around them. The Canaanites believed Baal gave rain and good harvests, so the Israelites began to worship Baal when they wanted good crops, thinking it would help their farms succeed.

✍🏾 So it wasn't that they suddenly decided to leave God. It was through relationships, marriage, and living closely with the Canaanites that idolatry slowly entered their homes and hearts.
