Jesus Came to Restore What Was Lost

When Adam sinned, he didn’t just break a rule. He broke a relationship. And that broken relationship affected everything — his covering, his access, his place, his peace..
⤵️ He Lost His Covering
After Adam ate, Genesis 3:7 says "they realized they were naked". Before sin, man was 90 - 💯 % spiritual. His spirit was alive and it covered his flesh. His spirit was stronger than his body.
But the moment he ate, he became 100% physical.
Suddenly he saw weakness, shame, lack. The covering was gone.
So he sewed fig leaves. That’s us — we try to cover shame with busyness, church work,experience, money, "I’m fine". But fig leaves don’t last.
*Jesus restores it:* Genesis 3:21 — God killed an animal and gave them skin. Blood had to be shed for a covering.
2 Cor 5:21 — "God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God".
✍🏾 Stop trying to cover yourself. Put on Christ. You’re not naked before God anymore.
⤵️ He Lost Direct Access
Genesis 3:8 — "They hid from God". Sin made them run FROM God instead of TO God.
Before sin: God walked with Adam in the cool of the day. Daily talk. No priest/pastor/Prophet. No waiting. Direct access.
After sin: Distance. Fear. "I was afraid because I was naked".
*Jesus restores it:* Matthew 27:51 — When Jesus died, the temple veil tore from top to bottom. God ripped it open.
Hebrews 4:16 — "Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with boldness". Not fear. Not begging. Boldness.
✍🏾 You don’t need a middleman anymore. Jesus IS the way. Come boldly, even with fear and guilt.
⤵️He Lost His Place
Genesis 3:23-24 — God drove man out of Eden. He lost the place of presence, provision, and peace.
Natural man cannot understand spiritual things — 1 Cor 2:14. He became physical, so the spiritual realm felt far.
*Jesus restores it:* John 14:2-3 — "I go to prepare a place for you".
Ephesians 2:6 — "God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in heavenly places".
You’re not an outsider anymore. You have a place at the Father’s table.
⤵️ HIS PEACE
Fear and Guilt..
Fear says "God will reject me". Guilt says "I’m too dirty".
But Hebrews 4:16 says we come "with boldness" — Greek word = freedom to speak openly, like a child to a father.
How? By His Spirit + Word. Romans 8:15 — "The Spirit makes us cry Abba, Father".
The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead drives fear and guilt out of you.
⤵️ URGENCY
1. Don’t break what Jesus restored. We don’t know when our last day is. James 4:14 — life is a v***r. Stay covered, stay connected...
⤵️ CALL TO JESUS
Adam heard God and hid in fear. Today, hear Jesus and run to Him in faith.
If you’ve been hiding, come out. If shame has covered you, put on Christ. If fear keeps you far, approach His throne boldly.
Jesus didn’t die so you could stay distant. He died to restore what Adam lost.
⤵️ PRAYER
Father, thank You for restoring what was lost in Eden. Cover us with Your righteousness. Remove fear and guilt. Give us boldness to approach Your throne. We come home today, in Jesus name. Amen..
