Save our Crematorium
The Mountain Rise Crematorium has been non functional for the past 10 years.
Despite numerous pleas, letters and negotiations, by various organisations
and individuals the Municipality has failed to provide a workable and
permanent solution
The Hindu Dharma Trust (HDT) , has been to negotiating with the Council,
for the last three years, but without any success. With the unanimous support of all, at public meeting held on 9th February, the HDT has been mandated to write a letter to the Municipality to demand the following:
1. Msunduzi Municipality within 30 days of receipt of Letter, set out
how and when it intends to have the Crematoriums in working conditions. This
letter has been sent on 21st February.
2. Must indicate when it intends to clean and maintain the cemetery in Toto.
1. Should the Municipality fail, to negotiate or provide a reasonable solution, in order to avoid costs, the HDT will have no option but to approach the Court.
We are appealing to all Organisations, Churches, Temples, friends, etc, to
join our group "Save Our Crematorium"
