Do you realize the impact of gossip?
Today I want to help you understand the implication when you slander someone vs. when you approach someone according to the Word Matt 18:15-20
When you gossip, do you realize that it is a sin that leads to death?
When someone gossips about others there is always some fruit, now that fruit you start with your innocent gossip story ends in a story that is completely twisted. God is going to demand an account of you! Remember the experiments that were done that are distributed on social media...where people stand in a line and in less than 15 minutes a story is retold. The story ends completely and differently. Can you see how much damage is done to such a person who is slandered? By the time, you are retold the gossip story and told not to tell anyone else...Sound familiar? First of all, because you yourself are not sure about the story, fear has now also taken control, if the story comes out you may be sued for defamation!
When people gossip, I've learned their sin is usually more, and they gossip to feel better about themselves. It is a coward who slanders someone without going to that person and clarifying the matter.
Now let's compare it with Matt 18:15-20 The beginning with the following… If your fellow believers’ sins against you...
What it says to me is that with the first scenario, it was not a sin against you! It's just a hearsay story and the end of it leads to death, and therefore people who delight in gossip stories will not share in the kingdom of God. Are you busy with such stories, I want specifically for the men, if you really call yourself a man. And identify yourself as a man. Teach your son to do the things a man should do and enjoy. There is much more to life than setting an wrong example to your son of what a coward looks like and gossiping all day. Do you want to raise your son to have tea parties and gossip all day? Well that's the example you give him, what do you expect a different outcome? Our Dads are getting fatter and fatter by the day, they just sit and drinks and teaches wrong habits to the children. For the fathers who teach their sons to go fishing, play rugby, play chess, play football, make music... well done!
Help your son find his identity... If you're not going to do it, then the world and bad fiends will do it on your behalf . Start getting active again, go jogging with your son. Teach your son the good habits, things that can make a son a good man for his family one day. Break the bond of bad habits today. You put a curse on yourself and your family. Ask the Lord to forgive you, go and fix what you have spread.
If it doesn't affect you, keep your nose out of other people's business.
Read 2 Thessalonians 3:11-12 11 Yet we hear that some of you are living idle lives, refusing to work and meddling in other people's business. 12 We command such people and urge them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and work to earn their own living.
1 Timothy 5:13 New Living Translation 13 And if they are on the list, they will learn to be lazy and will spend their time gossiping from house to house, meddling in other people's business and talking about things they shouldn't.
2 Corinthians 12:20 New Living Translation 20 For I am afraid that when I come I won't like what I find, and you won't like my response. I am afraid that I will find quarreling, jealousy, anger, selfishness, slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorderly behavior.
Romans 1:29
New Living Translation
29 Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip.
Matthew 5:23-24
23 “So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, 24 leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.
Ephesians 4:31-32
"Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you"
