Today, Mr Mndawu Mashabane reminds us of the power of AIM to set our sights on a purpose, remain focused, walk by faith, and refuse to be distracted by doubt.

His message echoes the words of Philippians 3:14:

“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

May we continue to aim with purpose, focus with faith and press towards the destiny God has prepared for us.

As we conclude the commemoration of this special day in the history of the Free Methodist Church, our leaders at Matsulu Free Methodist Church, Rev. A.L. Mahlalela, Rev. S.A. Mahlalela, Pastor P.S. Mashabane and Pastor V. Sibiya, led the cutting of the anniversary cake, adding sweetness to the joy and gratitude we received from God today.

166 Years of Grace, Faith and Mission

In celebrating 166 years of God’s grace, the Matsulu Free Methodist Church of Southern Africa joyfully gathered for a memorable Holy Communion service, echoing the words of Jesus: “Do this in remembrance of Me.”

Rev. A.L. Mahlalela took the congregation down memory lane, reflecting on the establishment of the Free Methodist Church in New York on 23 August 1860 and how the movement grew from its humble beginnings to spread across the world.

The celebration was enriched by powerful musical items, with the church’s musical ministry leading the congregation in praise and worship, creating a joyful and reflective atmosphere as we remembered God’s faithfulness throughout the years.

As we honour our history, we celebrate the faith, sacrifice and vision of our founders, while reaffirming our commitment to the values upon which the Free Methodist movement was built.
