WE ARE CHILDREN OF ONE FATHER, AND SHEEP OF ONE SHEPARD: LETS UNITE AND TURN THE WORLD UPSIDE DOWN

John 17:20-21
[20]"I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word;
[21]that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. Their Future Glory.

You see, as Jesus looked, in turn, at each beloved face gathered around the Passover table that last evening, He knew what lay ahead – for Him and for them. After the meal, the King of kings and Lord of lords laid aside His garments, picked up a towel, and knelt before each one to wash their feet. Even the one who would betray him in just a few short hours. After He sent Judas into the night, He opened His heart to share those final, important truths that the disciples would need to carry them through the next terrifying hours. He concluded those precious moments by praying His heart over them, reaching out to the Father on their behalf, and on our behalf.

He could have prayed many things. He alone knew the horror, the mind-numbing grief, the overwhelming disillusionment that would follow His benediction. He understood the transformation that needed to occur so that this ragamuffin band of rough men could turn the world upside down (Acts 17:6). Only He could foresee the faith explosion that would shake the very foundations of the formidable Roman empire. He could have asked for and imparted many things, but He asked for one thing over and over: that we all may be one.

Five times He prayed that we might be one. Just like He and the Father are one, He asked that we would be united, that we would stand together in the Word that He gave, that we would radiate the glory that He shared. And somehow, this unity between us, this unbreakable bond will testify to the fact that God sent Jesus to this world and that He has loved us with an unsurpassed love. God loved the world so much that He sent His only Son so we could believe in Him, so we could be united with Him in love and share in this great big, messy, wonderful family. We will never be on the outside, never be without a friend or advocate or helper again. We stand as one. This is our forever family.

Now, are you the answer to the petition that Jesus prayed on that night long ago? Are you unified with the body of Christ? Are you making every effort to live in harmony with your brothers and sisters? Are you humbly kneeling to wash their feet? Are you surrendering your will to stand united in heart, mind, purpose and action? This world is waiting to be turned upside down again. But that can only happen when we stand as a united house!

DESTINED TO MAKE IT

Judges 6:12,16
[12]The angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, "The Lord is with you, O valiant warrior."
[16]But the Lord said to him, "Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat Midian as one man."

You see, in the time of Gideon, the Midianites had terrorized the Israelites for seven years. They raided the country, destroyed the crops, and stole their livestock. Their land was ravaged, and the Israelites were impoverished, forced to live in caves and mountains. And lived life in fear. Then God introduces us to Gideon in Judges 6, as he is threshing wheat in a winepress. Usually, an Israelite threshed wheat in a wide, open space, but Gideon was lying low, hiding out from the Midianites in a pit dug into the ground.

Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared and announced, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” Gideon must have looked over both of his shoulders, tapped himself on the chest, and asked, “You talking to me?” He did not hesitate to voice his doubts aloud. How could this be true? If God was with them, why were these things happening? Where were the miracles they had heard about from their fathers? He was certain that God had deserted them. He blatantly declared that he was the weakest, least likely person to deliver Israel. He was not convinced. His eyes were closed to the possibilities. His faith in God wavered after so much suffering.

Perhaps you find yourself in a situation like that of Gideon. The enemy has attacked relentlessly, assaulted your health, waged war against your marriage, or even carried off your children. Destroyed your social life and scattered your finances. Your faith is eroded. Lying low, you long for deliverance. When we met him, Gideon was not a warrior. He was a wimp and a whiner. God, however, looked beyond the pit and saw the potential. He had handwritten Gideon’s destiny with victory. When God opened his eyes, Gideon recognized the truth: God plus you make a majority. When God pressed a torch in one hand and a trumpet in the other, Gideon discovered that God equips you with the weapons needed for battle.

Whatever your situation, know this: God drafted a plan for your life before you drew your first breath. He lovingly wove in valor and victory. He created you with purpose and talents for your particular battles. Look up, mighty man and woman of valor! Climb out of the pit. Put on all the promise, potential and power of the plan God designed specially for you. He will provide the weapons of your warfare and send allies to fight beside you. God is with you, and His plan never fails. Hallelujah!!!!!

LET US LAY ASIDE THE SIN

Hebrews 12:1
[1]THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,

You see, as we run the race, we can easily fail because of ignorance. We MUST NEVER ignore the instruction from our Coach, our Lord Jesus Christ. Now, the second instruction is that, we must lay aside the sin that easily entangles us. Each one of us knows the sin that one is struggling with. You know your habitual sin. You know the sin that you even call your weakness.

Sometimes we take it lightly, but this is serious. Let me mention a few for you. Fornication and adultery, lying, lustful thoughts, uncontrolled addictions (addiction to alcohol, drugs, po*******hy, etc) and murder and all other sinful acts which have become your weakness or your habit in life. The Bible says, let us lay aside that particular sin, if more than one, let us lay aside those sins which so cleverly and easily entangles us.

This habitual sins takes you back always. Even if you know yourself as a fast runner in the Lord. But once you have some habitual sins in your life, they will not only slow you down but will take you backwards always. For example, if you are a child of God, with some habitual sins, your Christian walk with God will not be as spiritual and sweet as that of a child of God who is cautious about such things.

Therefore, child of God, lay aside the sin, that sin that is mainly your problem in your Christian journey. And let the character of Christ be built and manifested in you and through your life. Then, you will be able to run the race and finish and be crowned with heavenly Glory!!

How can I do so? Christ died for such. He died to take away the sins of man (John 1v29). Therefore, take those sins to Christ and He will take them all away!! They shall not be remembered again. God will not remind you of your past. Only Satan can remind you of your past and you can defeat him by constant meditation upon the Word of God and Prayer. Run and never faint!!! There's a prize for you in heaven!!!

Psalms 119:11
[11]Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You.

Have you ever heard something that was so profound that you immediately knew it was important? And you told yourself, “I will never forget what I just heard.” Then on your way home or to the car, you ask yourself, “What did he just say?” The mind has a way of taking information in and doesn’t necessarily forget it or lose it; it just can’t remember where it placed it.

David said, “I’m not going to hide God’s Word in the filing cabinets of my mind. I’m going to hide His Word in my heart.” We need to place His Word as a treasure into our heart so that when life becomes overwhelming, we can open the treasure chest and receive what we need. When we’re in a hopeless situation, we will remember God’s Word because it’s our source of hope. When we don’t have the strength to carry on, we will reach into God’s Word because it will give us the power to take the next step. When the world around us is saturated in fear and afraid to move, we will go to the treasure of God’s Word and find courage because we know that we are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus! Therefore, take an initiative not to hide His word in your mind but in your heart.

1 Samuel 16:7
[7]But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."

If you ever felt overlooked for some reason, David knew what you felt or feeling. On that day, that the prophet Samuel came to anoint one of Jesse’s sons for the throne, David’s family sent him out to the field. They didn’t see in David what God saw. He wasn’t considered worthy enough to even be considered by Samuel. David was overlooked and ignored until God reminded Samuel that man’s opinions do not determine one’s destiny. God Almighty is the One who ordained us. God Almighty is the One who says that when He begins a good work in us, He is be FAITHFUL to complete it. God Almighty is the One who makes the least one suddenly ascend to be the greatest. Hallelujah!!

You see, don't let the small-minded perspective of others around you become your limitation. Believe in your life what David believed in his life: “The Lord is on my side. God loves me, and He has chosen me. Nothing is too difficult for the Lord whom I serve. No giant is too big that God and I cannot take down. No valley is too great that God and I cannot walk through. No night is too dark that His Word will not be a lamp to my feet.” Hallelujah!!!

Rejoice, I say rejoice in the Lord!!!!

Philippians 4:19
[19]And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

My beloved brethren, hear what today’s Scripture doesn’t say, “My God shall give me what I want.”But it says that He’ll supply all my needs. Because He knows all my needs!!! I need a Savior. I need someone to wash sin out of my life. I need a scapegoat who can bear the guilt of my transgressions and iniquity and die in substitution of what I deserve. I don’t get what I want. But thank God, He loves me so much that He gives me the sacrifice I need.

I don’t know what you want in your life today, but I know that if you need something, Jesus Christ is all-sufficient. Jesus Christ is El Shaddai. He is a way maker. He is a yoke and bo***ge breaker. He is the Prince of Peace who can soothe your tormented mind. He is the provider who can open up the windows of heaven and shower you with blessings that you cannot contain. He is the healer who can touch a sick body and make it strong again. He is the banner in battle who will give you victory when defeat looks imminent. Hallelujah!!!

Therefore, stop begging God for what you want and start praising God that He has supplied your every need according to His riches in glory! Hallelujah!!!

Isaiah 55:11
[11]So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

There is one powerful Principle of God, as it concerns His Word. Remember, He is the Shepard that speaks. His spoken word never sleeps. It is constantly working in your life. God wants to invest in you so much that He bought you with the great price of His only begotten Son’s life. He is investing His Word in you, and it’s not going to return void. It’s going to accomplish its purpose in changing your life and causing you to prosper and grow. More so, make it to heaven. Whatever He has said He will do in your life, He will do it and nothing can stop it. No one can void God’s promises from working in your life. That promise that He’s given you may not show up for a month or a year, but it will come to pass. The apostle Paul said it this way: “He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Hallelujah!!!

Be encouraged today: God’s Word is always working. He is the Lord, your Shepherd.

Psalms 23:3
[3]He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Matthew 28:19
[19]Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

You see, as God's sheep, you are to obey His voice. He, Jesus Christ, the Shepard, being proud of you, His sheep, declared in John 10, that you know Him. You know even His voice. Now, do you really know Him when He speaks? Do you obey Him? Do you not take His authority for granted?

In Psalm 23v3, the psalmist declares that the Great Shepard restores his soul. Meaning all the sheep of His pasture, when they are discouraged in life, when they are weary, when they faint along the way, when they are depressed in life and going through too many things disturbing their way of Christian life, HE IS THERE FOR THEM. TO RESTORE THEIR SOUL. TO REFRESH THEIR SOUL. TO ENCOURAGE THEM. TO HEAL THEM EMOTIONALLY AND PHYSICALLY. TO REJUVENATE THEM. TO SPEAK SPECIAL WORDS OF VICTORY AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES AS CHILDREN OF GOD. THE WORK OF SOUL WINNING. Mathew 28v19.

MY dear Saint, in today’s world, God needs you to be willing to speak up for Him. He might send you to the boardroom to speak to people who are only concerned about the bottom line and tell them,“What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?” He might send you to your living room to declare that your family needs to be a household of faith. He might send you to the hallways of your high school to unashamedly tell your friends that you are a child of the living God.Whatever God wants you to do, have the courage to leave a mark.

As His sheep, are you ready to follow His leadership?

May the Light of the Lord shine upon you and your family today, to bless you, to heal you, to restore your soul, to protect and provide for you and your family in Jesus Christ name.

Romans:10 V 17
[17] Faith, then, is birthed in a heart that responds to God’s anointed utterance of the Anointed One.

Romans 10:17
[17]So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).

You see, as a believer, you need to grow or build your faith in the Lord, your Shepard. Now, if you want to build your faith in God, the only way to do it is by hearing His Word. He is the Shepard that speaks. And God’s Word has the power to go forth and accomplish His purposes in your life. It builds faith that gives life to your dreams, gives strength to your body, and builds a hedge of protection that brings you peace of mind. God’s Word gives you faith that as you confront what look like mountains of impossibility, whether it’s a financial or spiritual or physical impossibility, you can say to that mountain,“Be removed and cast into the midst of the sea.” It gives you strength to take the next step when you think the hill is too hard to climb. His Word builds the kind of faith that says,“I may be pressed on every side, but if God is for me, who can be against me?” Hallelujah!!!

Moreover, that kind of faith comes when you hear the Word of God and receive it into your heart. Hearing the Word of God gives you the kind of faith to look at the world, the flesh and the devil today and declare that you are more than a conqueror through Christ! God is the Shepard that speaks. He is Omniscient, He knows what to say to you at all times. Yours, is to receive His word, cherish His word and apply it in your life. As the sheep of His pasture, have faith in Him. He knows everything, and by you building your faith in Him, He shall turn every impossibility to possibilities in the name of Jesus Christ.
