WEDNESDAY EMPOWERMENT REFILL | TAKE YOUR POSITION

There comes a time when you must decide that what was repeated before you will not be repeated through you.

Your bloodline, your family history, or the way things have always been done does not determine the position you must take. You have been given dominion and authority—and through your personal encounter with God, you can choose to break the chain, stand in the gap, and say, “Not in my time.”

The generations before you may have left footprints, but when you walk in what God has ordained for you, your obedience can leave a footprint that generations after you will remember.

“And I remind you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority God gave them but left the place where they belonged.” — Jude 1:6

Take your position. Stay where God has placed you. Stand firm. Break the chain. Be the difference.

ALIGNMENT WITH GOD’S WILL

Romans 12:1–2 | Luke 22:39–46

There is God’s will, and there is our will. Alignment with God means trusting His will even when His process is uncomfortable and His promise seems delayed.

Jesus showed us that surrender is not always easy. In the garden, He prayed through the agony and surrendered His will to the Father: “Not my will, but yours be done.”

Abraham had received a promise from God, but the discomfort of waiting led to human intervention. Ishmael was born through human effort, but Isaac came according to God’s promise. What God promised did not require Abraham to force it—it required him to trust God’s process.

Sometimes the greatest test is not receiving the promise, but remaining aligned while waiting for it.

WEDNESDAY EMPOWERMENT | THE HAND OF THE LORD
Ezekiel 37:1–10

We have become accustomed to recognising the hand of God when it brings us comfort, provision, and blessing. But Ezekiel teaches us that sometimes, the hand of the Lord will lead you into a valley.

When God called Ezekiel, he had no idea that he could bring life to dry bones. Yet God brought him into a valley filled with what was completely dead and useless, to reveal what He could do through him.

The hand of the Lord upon you does not only distinguish you for the anointing; it can lead you into valleys where only the power of God can produce results.

We want the blessings of God, but we do not always want the God who transforms us. We want His hand, but not always His process. We want one side of Him, but not the other.

May we allow God to be God in this journey He has placed us in. May we trust His hand even when it leads us into places we cannot understand, knowing that He will bring us to a place that only He can.

WHAT IS IT THAT YOU HAVE IN YOUR HOUSE?

Sometimes the problem is not that God is not speaking; it is that we cannot recognise His voice among the many voices around us. We can miss our encounter because of our perception—looking at our circumstances through the lens of what we have, what we can do, and what the problem is saying.

In 2 Kings 4, the widow saw debt and believed the solution was money. But God asked, “What do you have in your house?” She had already overlooked the very thing God would use for her breakthrough: a jar of oil.

Ps. Mabogo reminded us that we can miss what is around us without realising that our perception is limiting our breakthrough.

God is calling us to perceive through the lens of His Word, to know our Master’s voice, and to recognise what He has already placed in our hands.

The oil was there, but eventually it stopped—not because the oil had run out, but because the capacity to receive had reached its limit.

So the question is not only, “What am I asking God for?”
It is also, “Do I have the capacity to carry what I am asking God for?”

May God reveal Himself to us—and just as importantly, reveal what is already in our house.

You have Christ. You have the One who conquered death. The Prince of Peace. The Great Warrior. Your Healer. Your Deliverer.

You’re in position. You’re waiting on the promise. But what are you carrying?

Because it’s possible to be perfectly positioned and still mishandle what God placed within you.

The promise is in you—but is it still alive?

This Sunday, we examine what we carry.

“But who do you say that I am?” — Matthew 16:13

Today, we were reminded that there comes a point in our walk with Christ where what we have heard about Him must become a revelation we carry for ourselves.

We may encounter Christ through the preaching of pastors, the testimonies of others, and the faith of those who raised us—but knowing Him for ourselves remains a personal assignment.

As Ps. Oliphant reminded us:
“The assignment of God is not group work; it is a personal assignment.”

Others can point us to Christ, teach us about Him, and help sustain our walk for a season—but they cannot replace our own revelation of who He is.

We were reminded of the Samaritan woman in John 4:37–42. Her testimony caused others to seek Jesus, but eventually they came to a place where their knowledge of Him was no longer dependent on what she had told them—they came to know Him for themselves.

And this is where identity becomes important. We cannot truly know who we are apart from knowing whose we are. Our lives are hidden with Christ in God. — Colossians 3:3

We also learnt that there is a dimension of authority that comes with revelation. If we have not received the revelation of who Christ is, we do not have the permission to bind or permit. What we carry must be rooted in what we know of Christ for ourselves.

“You will never have an identity and fail to identify your purpose.” — Apostle Kajane

When Christ is revealed to us, our identity is established in Him, and from that identity, we begin to recognise and walk in the purpose He has entrusted to us.

Knowing Christ is personal. Identity is personal. Purpose is personal.

Encounter. Position. Assignment.

An encounter is not determined merely by how desperately you seek for it, but by the position from which you are seeking it.

We were met today with the question: Are you looking for an encounter within His Word, or outside His Word? This reminds us that regardless of what we do, we need to discern what we are carrying and from where we are standing. What we carry can either position us for an encounter or become the very thing that hinders us from encountering Christ.

There must come a point where what we do is no longer merely a response to instruction, expectation, or imitation, but the fruit of an encounter with Christ. We ought to be able to trace our obedience back to the One whom we have encountered.

As Ps. Mabogo said:

“Hypocrisy is you appearing as if, though you are not.”

We are hypocritical when our public life disagrees with our private life. And the thing about hypocrisy is that you need not declare it with your mouth—your life will show it.

In your waiting for an encounter, where are you standing, and what are you carrying? For when an encounter comes, it does more than satisfy how you feel; it reveals God, and it reveals you.

Perhaps our greatest challenge is that we have allowed our encounters to become our destination, whereas God only intended them to be a resource to affirm our assignment and an instrument to call us into that assignment.

May we do away with the spirit of hypocrisy and seek an encounter with Christ with obedient hearts, authentic lives, and a readiness to respond to the assignment that the encounter reveals.
