Jochebed: Faith Over Fear for the Next Generation
Jochebed’s story is one of courageous faith in the midst of circumstances she could not control. Faced with Pharaoh’s deadly decree, she chose faith over fear, taking wise and strategic action to protect Moses before ultimately entrusting his future into God’s hands.
Her story reminds us that faith is not passive: sometimes it means taking the next faithful step, using what God has placed in our hands, and partnering with God’s work in the world. It also means knowing when to release what we cannot control and trust God with the future.
As we conclude Her Story. God’s Story., we are invited to ask: Who has God entrusted to my prayers, encouragement and influence? What faith have I received that I can pass on? And what mark will my life leave on the generation that comes after me?
Central challenge: Choose faith over fear, take intentional action, and entrust the next generation to God so that God’s glory may continue to be known through our lives.
